Another Disney question -chef mickey
I won't promise it will be my last!
Chef Mickey does it really open at 7?
Is it feasible to get an early reservation (going late January) and then head over to magic kingdom and not miss too much park time?

Yes it opens at 7am. Totally doable to get an early res and walk or monorail to MK for rope drop.
Not sure where you're staying but keep in mind the logistics to get to such an early adr.

Will it be tough to get to the contemporary for an early reservation

Yes. It's a pain in the butt early lol.
Disney is in the middle of launching Minnie vans (think disneys version of uber) but they'll have up to two car seats. You might want to do that. Otherwise you'll have to take the bus to MK and walk. I don't even know how early that would be and when they start running to MK.
