Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
Honestly none of the buffets have fabulous food. I do think that disney's food though is better than other restaurants at other parks. I always recommend that people try chef mickey's at least once. We have done it twice - but probably will try a different one this trip. I think a lot of it is that CM is one of the most popular restaurants at WDW so it gets a lot of people and so you will always get good and bad. But if you remember that they are for the character interaction and you aren't looking for gourmet food (the food was decent but it IS a buffet) then you should enjoy yourself. I wouldn't worry it.

We have been there twice for dinner and have liked it. The food was good. The only thing is dress warm as it is FREEZING in there in the summer.

Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
Weve been going to disney for the last 5 years and we go to Chef mickeys EVERYTIME. My kids are now 7 and 9 years old and they still want to go every year. They love it, and frankly so do dh and me. ahahahahah. The food is ehh, but its not really about the food for us. Its about the character interaction, which is fantastic.

Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
We've been going there for about 10 years. I always thought the food was very good for a buffet, up until about 3 years ago. I don't know what changes they made, but the past few years there's I think there's less of a selection and the food is very mediocre.
I still think you should go. The kids love it, and the food is not awful or anything -- just not as good as it used to be. It's really a fun time.

It's loud, it's crazy, it's expensive.... and we have clients who wouldn't dream of a trip to WDW without Chef Mickey's. As long as you're prepared for it, I think it's something most families should experience.
Try getting a room at the Contemporary right above Chef Mickey's. The music will haunt you for days... and days... and days.... ;)

Same! Food was Bleeeehhhhh at best. Character interaction is quick. BUT you will see all 5 characters which is the only plus. If you want a great one I recommend Cape Mays breakfast. Its is great and all the characters are there as well.

Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
I don't know if we were there on a bad day, but we went in November and that was our least favorite of the 4 character meals we experienced.
I was warned by Mouse Tales but figured it would be nice because all the characters were there... it was an expensive experience we definitely could've skipped.
To start, we personally did not like the food AT ALL. I honestly couldn't find anything that tasted good.
As for the character experience, it was very rushed, we got more time with the characters in the parks, the place was just so crowded and hectic and we felt rushed the whole time.
We had a good breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Not Mickey, but Pooh, Tiger, Alice, the Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins.
Mouse Tales also recommended a much more intimate breakfast with Mickey at Ohana. We would do that next time. BTW, thanks Mouse Tales

Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
I have been there 2 times, both as a teen and adult. I have never had any complaints about it!

We went for breakfast. We had a good time. The food was what I expected at a buffet - average. I would do it again.

I think it's a must do at least once! We went there In sept. it was fun and entertaining ds had a ball. I'm not big on breakfast so having coffee fruit and maybe toast isent worth the cost for me but def worth the fun ds had!

Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
I make a point to go there at least once a trip!
We have done the breakfast and the dinner and I enjoy the dinner more because I couldn't justify the cost of breakfast when my kids eat half of the food :)
My kids always ask to go back to Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

'Ohana is our favorite character breakfast. Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch are the characters. It's so laid back compared to the other character breakfasts and I like that the food is served family-style so there's no up 'n down for Mom.

Re: Disney - Chef Mickey's Reviews
This was what made us decide to get tables in wonderland - it will be $400 just for this one meal But I wanted to go to a character meal for DS's first trip, and I wanted the classic characters, and we are staying at BLT so.... somehow I don't think the food will be worth the price
We loooooove Ohana for dinner. The breakfast is on our list.
