baby led weaning question

Thank you again for all of the info!

Now, did any of you just give your 6-7-8 month old, say, a soft boiled carrot to gnaw on? Lik big enough for the to hold?

Or did you cut into small pieces?

baby led weaning question

I always gave small pieces, mostly out of fear of a large chunk being bitten off.

Not with a carrot, but I let my daughter bit off things like crackers. Just had to watch that she didn't bite off too much at a time. She loves popping entire animal crackers in her mouth and just letting them melt.

baby led weaning question

I mostly gave my DD huge pieces to gnaw at. She loved it! It was only when she really started swallowing the food and wanted to eat that we started to cut it smaller for her; she eventually got frustrated with the bigger pieces because she just wanted to be able to pop it in her mouth and eat.

Large pieces to chew/gnaw until they have the pincer grasp.
