Talk to me about Baby Led Weaning
My DS is 9 months. We started solids at 7.5 months. I gave him pieces of avocado and he hated it. So I decided to do home made purées and it went better and now he has the hang of eating and feeding himself. He loves chunck of banana and chunks of sweet potato. I tried peas, but he wouldn't eat the skin of the pea and just kinda held it in his mouth. (They were organic frozen peas that I steamed).
What else can I give him? I'll still purée fruits and veggies too, but what finger foods are good for a 9 month old. I'd like to purée less and let him self feed more.
TIa.

Re: Talk to me about Baby Led Weaning
At 9 months, DD was eating mostly anything:
Scrambled eggs Bagels Waffles Pancakes Pastina Meatballs Chicken Steak Ham Sausage Pasta Carrots Peas Green beans Potatoes Sweet Potatoes Avocado Bananas Blueberries Strawberries Raspberries Apples Pears Pizza crust Bread English muffins Crackers Cheerios
ETA: I give her almost strictly table food now. However, MIL, who watches her 3 days a week, is still giving her purees because she afraid to give her food since she only has two teeth

I give dd any food she has tried as a purée--depending on what it is I may cut it smaller or break off a piece for her. Some of her favorites are carrots, apples, bananas, blue berries, sweet potatoe, potato, squash, pasta, rice crackers, turkey and chicken.

Re: Talk to me about Baby Led Weaning
Thanks for the ideas. He's not a fan if purees, but seems to really like feeding himself.
