Baby-led weaning questions

I know there is more to baby led weaning than just not giving baby food but that's all I'm curious about for now.

I can't post a poll from my iPad so my questions are:

Who did NOT give their infant cereal or jarred/puréed baby food?

How old was your infant when they started eating table food?

Thanks!

Re: Baby-led weaning questions

We do it. We never gave our kids baby foods of any kind. Started table foods between 7-8 months with all of them. My guy is 9 months(23lbs) and gets little bites of everything we eat. Its not enough to contribute to his weight gain or to contribute to him nutritionally. He gets all that from breast milk.

Re: Baby-led weaning questions

Um so I have no idea what led weaning is Chat Icon But with ds2 I started giving him pieces of our food at like 31/2-4 months so when I tried baby food ( skipped cereal) he wanted nothing to do with it. So I just started table food and by 5 months he had everything even high allergy foods. At 8 months he feeds himself table food like a pro! I can make pieces pretty large and can give him stuff that might not be easy to chew and break down and I'm confident he will do fine getting it down.
It was much easier like this and I will probably do the same thing with my next kid.
HTH
Edited to add that I started ds1 on table early but did give baby food. Both were/are bf. Ds2 was 16 lbs at 7 months.

Thanks Chat Icon

I have to say, I've never heard of giving a baby pieces of real food before six months...
