Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
I always, alwyas wanted a Michael. I know its like the most common name EVER but to me its so classic and I was supposed to be Michael if i was a boy.
Unfort, DH has about 4 Michaels in his family and they all also have the same last name as we do so DS would have been just another Michael XXXX so... DH came up w/ William. I loved it bc i like traditional boy names. Im not into anything trendy

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
I have no regrets at all. Funny how when you are 16 then names you think you will pick for your children, are often not the names of our children. Molly's name was not on our lists when I got pregnant but (many know this story) I wanted her named after my grandmothers Mary and Eva- Emory. Honestly, I thought I was going to have a boy most of the time. But in a store I was having pains and I said for NO reason at all "Molly Eva mommy needs to sit down" and I just knew that my grandmother's sent the name down to me..in an instant I knew I was having a girl and her name. I came home, told Scott the story and we both knew it was meant to be. She is a perfect Molly to be honest. And she is the only Molly in her school. She loves that facts.
Jason..was a name I always liked but never really considered during the adoption process until one day I was talking to Scott about his grandfather John and said well "Jason" starts with a J and ends with an N. Molly was not even 3 yet and over heard me. She at that moment said, 'My little boy's name is going to be Jason". She named her new baby doll Jason, told everyone we met that he baby boy's name was going to be Jason. It just felt right.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
No. I don't regret DS name - Logan. Though when we first considered it I almost changed my mind because I found out it was more popular then I thought - somewhere around #29 in 2008. (I didn't want something totally out there, just wasn't sure I wanted the most popular name.)
Just found out it's now around #8 or 9 . Oh well - I love it and especially with his middle name, it totally suits him.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Nope, not at all...and I love the spelling too, although it is a bit "non-traditional"...
I love her full name, and her nicknames...Kaitlynn, Kaity, Kate...
I do however regret my cat's name ...Lexie...I LOVE the name, I just wish we'd chosen something else so Alexa/Alexis/Alexandra (nn Lexie) could be an option for DC#2 if it were a girl...

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
DD's name is Ryleigh. Admittedly, I had second thoughts about it RIGHT after she was born...I kept wondering if we should have chosen the 2nd runner-up . But now she's had a chance to "grow into" her name, and we absolutely love it for her. We also wanted a different spelling than "Riley", to make it a little more feminine

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
DS's name is Harrison and I love it. I have no regrets at all. Originally when I put that name on my list, I thought it would be really cute to use Harry as a nickname. Once DS was born and we decided to name him Harrison, neither of us thought Harry suited him. I can't even imagine him having any of the other names on our list.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
DH picked DD#2's name and I wasn't in love with it the entire pregnancy. However, now I love it b/c I associate it with her. It's not a popular name today, but we also spell #1's name differently than it is commonly spelled

I love the name Cailen for a boy, even if people think I am talking about my daughter when I mention his name, and one mom sent him a girl's present for his birthday party - she never met him. But it means "warrior" in Gaelic, so if he ever gets teased I can tell him that!
I think it's unique - just like him!

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
No...love his whole name although DH regrets that we used Matteo for the middle and wishes we had saved it for a first name for the next boy...I love him dearly but he makes me because 1) he hated Matteo and we went back and forth on it for even a middle name way back when we were deciding and 2) although we are having another boy...that was never guaranteed and I refused to hold a name on a what if.

Never! I LOVE the name Francesco (and Frankie) and the fact that it's after my grandfather who has passed on! My 93 year old grandmother is beyond thrilled that now my Grandpa has a namesake!!

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
NOPE! I love both of the names. I had Maeve picked out for a while. People who arent familiar with Irish names are confused about it sometimes and we have to repeat it and spell it. People have heard of Fiona and it is getting more popular.
Their middle name is extremely rare. Even our families kept saying what is it again and how do you say it. It is a variation of my grandmother's name and I love that it is unique.

I totally regret spelling it Meagan and not Megan! Everyone spells it wrong and I couldn't get as many personalized things
I also have moments when I wished I went with Emma, but worried it was too common.
I also overthing everything
Sam, how do you pronounce it, I always thought it was Mee-gan. I have a friend Mee-gan spelled your DD's way. Is it good old Meghan?

I thought a long time for both my kid's names. Jared and Nikolas are two strong boys names and I never go with regular spelling.

My kids are Declan and Ronan. I love both of the names but I don't feel the nicknames are too good and it sort of irks be when others shorten their names. I don't say anything because I KNOW its nitpicky but I usually use their full names or terms of endearment rather than nicknames
Can I ask a silly question? I have always wanted to know how to pronounce Declan. Is it just De-clan?
Its not Day Klon but Deck laan rhymes with wreck

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
yes and no.
for DS, it was my second choice but it was a close second. now i'm so glad it's his name as i like it so much better than my first choice.
for DD, my first choice name i couldn't use because DH's sister just named her daughter the EXACT same first and middle name. the kids are first cousins so i couldn't do it. it still upsets me because that's the name i wanted for so long. i love DD's name, but it wasn't my first choice.
i wanted traditional and easy to spell. i'm not into unique names at all--i wanted the names to be timeless, which they are. there are people with those names that lived 300 years ago and people that have them today. timeless!
