neighbor neglecting their dog
I am so upset because my neighbors constantly tie their dog up in the front yard and sometimes don't even do that and he ends up roaming around the neighborhood. Yesterday my plumber left my door open and all of the sudden the dog was in my house running around. He looked so skinny and i really think they are taking poor care of him. My other neighbor yelled at the kids that own him because they were throwing rocks at him. Another time he ran off and the kids were yelling "come back here I am going to beat you" It breaks my heart because he is the sweetest little guy ever. I want to call the humane society or someone but the owners don't like me and I think they would suspect its me and I'm kind of frightened of them. I don't know what to do but it's heartbreaking to drive on my street seeing that little guy chained up (which is not only against the law here but it violates our associations rules) Any advice. Sorry so long I just had it when the poor dog tried to climb in my car today. he just wants to be near people.

Please call and report this, that is the only advice I could give you. It made me sad to think of that dog, I wish I knew who the owners are, I'd call someone myself. And I will if you want me to!

I would call SPCA and they will come and investigate if they feel the dog is taken care of or not.

I would call the ASPCA, ask that it remain anonymous. Also ask that if the owners do want to surrender the dog, where he will go and if it's a non-kill shelter.
That would be the best case scenario, for him to be put in a home with people who would actually care for him. Look what happened with Rudy, the neglected dog that lived in a parking lot most of his days! Now he's in a loving home.

I am going to echo everyone else. It's not always easy to do the right thing, but you need to be the voice for this little guy. Please call the SPCA or the police and ask to remain anonymous.

Do you live in Suffolk? If so call the SCSPCA...they take neglect/abuse cases seriously and will prosecute if they can...

I don't live in ny and these people have it in for me. I believe they were involved in vandalising my home. They know I always am nice to the dog etc. I really do think they would think it's me and retaliate.

yeah I will prob pass this to one of my friends and have them call. Hopefully someone will take it seriously. Thankfully I saw him being walked on a leash today and not tied up. I really hope they decide that he should go to a better home because he is so sweet. But honestly the way they take care of him doesn't shock me because they don't even watch their younger kids. It's almost like lord of the flies.

|I submitted a lead to them thru their website and they checked it.
