how can i politely tell my neighbor to SHUT his friggen dog up!

he leaves this poor thing that is so old out every nite and he just barks his head off!
I think our neighbor might've lost part of his hearing because i dont know how he puts up with it.
I just had my shoes on ready to walk over there but i dont want to start trouble.
My poor DH is trying to sleep as he has to be at work so early in the morning.

What would you do?

oh..and this has become a nightly thing..it was worse in the summer when the windows were open, but we can still hear him pretty clear!

I would tell him point blank...his dog being outside is keeping you and your DH up all night and he needs to keep to dog inside....if not you will call the town

Jeez I had the same issue with the trashy neighbors behind us. I finallyy went over and spoke with the woman. I was going to leave a note but decided to be adult about it. She was actually apologetic and said she didn't realize...then A-hole hubby comes to the door - "I ain't lettin my dog crap in the house for YOU!".

Um, did I ask you not to let the dog out?? No, I asked you to let him in when he is DONE and is BARKING.

Once we called the cops - 4 am in the dead of winter. I wish we had an ASPCA on LI.

Good luck, I would try speaking to them when you are not pizzed off...

I just dont want to start anything. He is a nice guy, but its getting a little out of hand and he may not realize it.

I had just complained about my neighbors dog on here last week. I don't know whats wrong with people.
I would LOVE to call someone, but, honestly, its gotten a little better so we shall see.
Try and maybe call the town. I told DH I wanted to leave a note in the mailbox, but, like I said, it has gotten a little better..Good Luck.
