If you couldn't find your engagement ring...UPDATED - found it
I don't wear it everyday, in fact I rarely wear it unless it's a special occasion. I keep it in the house but not in my jewelry box in case we ever got robbed. Now I can't find it & I have torn the place apart looking. I can't even remember when I last wore it. I am not generally careless with it but apparently I was this time. Luckily, my DH is great and is giving me no grief over it but I can't stop searching...
When would you consider it lost? WWYD? I have it claimed on our homeowners insurance. Anyone know how that works?

UPDATED: My DH said I needed to say 9 Hail Mary prayers to St. Anthony, not just pray. I'm not a super religious person but I tried it at 11:30 this morning (Wed) after searching the house for over a week. A little after 2 I was motivated to look in my closet where I looked at least 10 times already and I found it!! I was so stressed out over it and now I feel such a weight lifted. St. Anthony came through!!

I would call your Insurance Company and report it.
Maybe get yourself something that you would like to wear more often.
I wear my ring every single day so I think if I didn't really wear it then I would want something that I would prefer wearing often... unless you just aren't a jewelry person.

Pray to St.Anthony, It alway's works for me... Did you put it in your clothes draws, Or maybe it got mixed in with your clothes somewhere.. Look under your cushions, couch, chair, under tables..maybe under the bed.. Goodluck in finding it, Oh check the bathroom too if you take a shower without it on maybe its there in the medicine cabinets.

Thank you for the replies. I do love it but I have 3 small kids so I find that sometimes I don't even have my wedding band on.
I'm wracking my brain trying to remember when I wore it last bc I've been doing some serious cleaning and decluttering. I am so afraid I got rid of something and my ring was in it. I feels so silly that I hide it even though we have an alarm system. And now I scr*wed myself.
And I am going to try the St. Anthony prayers - that's what my DH suggested. He said he'd rather be together and have a lost ring than not be together and still have the ring. Just when he was driving me insane he gets adorable...

I lost my engagement ring 5 years ago. I never claimed it on insurance because i dont have jewelry on my plan. I took it off because i got a cramp in my finger. I NEVER EVER took mine off. I searched every where for it. I never found it. I think i may have thrown it out by accident when i cleaned off papers off of my dresser. I am heartbroken and i think about it every single day. I hope you find yours. Keep praying to St. Anthony!

This is going to sound stupid but a coworker told me to leave an empty glass on your kitchen counter when you lose something. It is supposed to help you remember. I thought she was nuts but it has worked for me.

I lost my ring once because just like u I don't wear it all the time. My daughter ended up hiding it and finally she remembered where she put it. It was in my pots and pans cabinet. I would call your insurance company like the other posters suggested. once you get a rep on the phone they will be able to get you to the right dept and have all the questions and info for you. good luck I hope it turns up.

This is weird, but I find it helpful to have someone else look. When I look for something I've lost, I try & be systematic, but I end up concentrating on the places I think it should be.
If your husband or someone else could help you, they may be more detached & be able to look more thouroughly.
I would exhaust all options before I reported it, but I'm stubborn.

This always works for me too- but only if I promise a donation! I usually send $5 to a church after I find whatever it is I was looking for
