Bottles and ounces

Dd is 4 1/2 months and now can sleep 11-13 hours straight which means she dropped a bottle. Some days She only has four during the day. 6oz every 4 hours. She's on the big side but I'm concerned it's not enough ounces. I have not introduce solids yet but will in the next couple of weeks. Thoughts?

Don't get hung up so much on exact ounces. Each baby is different and it is a LOOSE guideline.

If your Dr isn't concerned then you shouldn't be. And NEVER compare your baby to another.

I wouldn't worry. If she's sttn then she's probably getting enough calories for her to get through. Is she finishing all 6oz of the bottles? If you're worried, you can always try upping each bottle to 8 oz and see if she finishes those. I also always offer a bigger bottle before bed. So DS takes 6 oz bottles during the day and 8oz before bed. He's on solids, so it's a bit different, but we did this before he was eating solids, too.

DD is 3 1/2 mos and I nurse her to sleep at night. I have no idea how much she's getting but she generally sleeps about 6 hours, I nurse her again, and then back down for a few hours. I may try giving her a bottle with more than I normally would and see if she finishes it and sleeps longer.

Thats awesome! If shes happy healthy gaining weight i wouldnt worry. I learned dont get caught up in the little details as long as your baby is happy and healthy! Your dd is sleeping more than my 16 month has o er the last week.

Re: Bottles and ounces

As long as she is gaining weight you are fine! Dd never drank more than 5 oz. at one sitting!
