toddlers - constipation - miralax
how long is it safe to use? I know the bottle says 7 days but without it, DS REALLY struggles 
we were giving it to him for about 10 days (1/2 cap full) in his morning milk and it helped. He was having daily BMs. We stopped because he was back to being regular, consistently but again tonight he is struggling. 
help!

I've been using it with my DD for MONTHS now. First when she struggled really bad, I did half the dose it suggests every day. Then she tried going more regularly but still struggles. So I cut it to every other day which is what I still do for the most part. I'll skip a few days at a time sometimes when she starts getting very regular and not so constipated. Then it usually starts to get bad again. The dr said I can keep using it as I am.

DD was on it for a longggg time. We started put with 1/2 cap once a day then cut back to 1/4 cap once a day. afyer a while she was able to have 1/4 cap every other day but if she skipped 3-4 days she would get all backed up and we would have to give her a little more to regulate her again.
Once you find a good balance you will know. Eventually DD didn't need it anymore, hut we only knew that by experimenting (and flat out forgetting) make sure your DS is drinking plenty of water. It will hekp the miralax work better.

My friends dd was on it every day for years... Now, she's down to every other day... Some kids just can't poop on their own! I don't think it hurts so why not!

I used it almost everyday for a year. How old is your DS? My DS started having issues when we switched to whole milk. WHen I asked the Drs. they said it wasn't from that. When we got rid of his bottle, he refused milk and low and behold the constipation was gone!

My girls were on it everyday for months and months, now it's every other day to every 2 days.
If they didn't take it they'd NEVER poop regular.

My DD was on it for 2 years straight. We had no choice.I was reassured by her ped it was safe.

Same with DD. My DD started with major constipation at 1, when we started whole milk. She had issues before too, with certain formulas. But funny when I was away and had to use 1% organic milk singles by Horizon, the constipation eased up.
Yet my ped still felt the benefits of the whole milk were important and to use the Miralax.
