I really neer your help re constipation in toddlers....
DS hasn't pooped in 3 days (today being day 4). Sometimes he doesn't go for a day or 2, but then on the day he does go, he'll go 2-3 times. However, he hasn't gone since Wednesday. I have tried prunes, water, etc. and he is still not going....and now I think he is to the point where he is getting a bit uncomfortable. What are some remedies? and when do I put a call in to the pediatrician (when does it REALLY become a concern?) TIA - I am really at a loss here, and could use all the advice I can get....

My son has issues as well. Did you try pear juice? Also some flavored applesauces and fruit bars have fiber. You can also try some ground flax meal in yogurt/applesauce or baby fruit. Start with a very small amount. HTH

baby lax... liquid suppository... makes them go. not pleasant, they'll cry.. but it gets the dried out poop out, which is needed to get them moving again. we had to do it 3x this week on my 18 month old, but finally, we got enough out of her, she went on her own again the last 2 days.

My ped said after 3 or 4 days to use a suppository.
ETA: When we had to use it we got the pediatric size ones and cut them in half (all per my peds instructions).

Re: I really neer your help re constipation in toddlers....
Well, we recently had this issue with Ava. What did the trick was a natural children's laxative two times a day. It's root beer flavored. I will check the name, but I gave it to her two times a day for three days and she let it all out. It did give her a bit of a belly ache one day but I think it was the constipation, not the laxative. Now, we are taking precautionary measures by upping her fiber, making sure she has fresh fruit and veggies, high fiber breads and lots of water everyday. No problems since. I know how tough it is.
