Question for all those with swelling lately
Ok so my legs and feet were beyond swollen yesterday - I normally have some swelling but nothing crazy and it is every like 10 days or so I stayed off them starting at like 6 last night and they are better this am but still swollen
My question is did your swelling fully go away overnight or did you still wake up with some? Not sure if this is normal or not?? Oh and I am going to be 33w

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
I will still wake up with some. It's so hard to really keep it at bay - I think it's just a very normal (albeit annoying) part of pregnancy.
I even remember after having a c/s the first time, my feet were like BALLOONS! They were bigger than they were the entire pregnancy! I was so scared, but it's normal.

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
I could have written this post!! Usually my swelling goes down if I sit all night with my feet up, and by the morning they are back to normal. Last night was the most they've ever been swollen (DH was starting to get concerned), and this morning they are still pretty bad

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
im 35 weeks and just started with the swelling about 3 weeks ago. i literally gained 12 lbs in like 2 weeks. my legs and feet are completly swollen.
i remember getting it with ds but got it alot sooner with him (was preg during the summer with him so that couldve contributed to it) when i put my feet up its better but comes right back.. it went completly away a few weeks after ds was born...

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
At almost 39 weeks, my feet look like Fred Flintstone's. I have cankles and hand swelling too. In 8 days I gained 4lbs just from swelling. I almost cried when I got on the scale yesterday. They said it was very normal at this point.

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
sorry crasher here...not currently prego but when I was I had a lot of swelling at the end. I'd get off my feet at night like you do - wake up looking fine but as soon as I was up and on my feet...the swelling would just start up again. Dr. told me it was normal and just something some people deal with at the end. I hate to tell you it got worse while I was in labor - my entire body was swollen including my b00bs which were already DDD's - . My swelling took 2 weeks to go down after I gave birth... Hang in there!

My boss told me (and everyone else in our office tonight) that my new nickname is Fred Flinstone

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
I'm going on 27 weeks, and for about 10 days, I've had incredible swelling - hands too, but ankles and feet are the worst.
Getting off of my feet is difficult, thanks to my commute into NYC every day - - I don't get home till around 8pm. Not enough time to un-do the damage of the day.
My OB isn't overly concerned, but she has started to warn that I can't expect to commute thru the end. Today I stayed home and kept my feet up most of the day, and it helped. The second I got up to do some stuff around the house with DH, they went right back to their puffy selves.
I'm dedicated to getting the swelling under control this weekend, given the extra day off on Monday.
Good luck to everyone! It's so frustrating!

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
When I was pregnant with DS I was swollen until about 2 wks after giving birth! Dr kept telling me it was normal. I exercised, drank plenty of water, etc., nothing helped. After those 2 wks after giving birth I felt like an entirely new person! It is so annoying, just feels so uncomfortable!

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
I have swelling now at 25 weeks. It's usually at night and by the morning it's back down. Spoke with my Dr on Tues at my last appt. and he wasn't too concerned and just told me to drink plenty of water, make sure that I get up and walk around every hour or so (I have a desk job) and to watch my salt and sugar intake.

Re: Question for all those with swelling lately
Right now (31 weeks) whenever I wake up my swelling is gone.
But when I was pregnant with DS my swelling very rarely subsided. I wound up with pregnancy induced high blood pressure. I would definitely mention it to the OB at your next appointment.
