QUESTION ABOUT SWELLING AFTER C SECTION

mY legs and feet are still really swollen after 2 weeks. Can I take a water pill? Anyone do this or should i just wait it out. I still can't put shoes on!!!

I had it terribly with my first son. I called the nurse and she just said to wait it out at that point. I think 6 weeks was the key time - after that it's an issue. They advised to drink lots of water, tea and cranberry juice - all diuretics.

I had REALLY bad swelling and my OB told me to drink a lot of water and to keep my feet elevated. I kept my feet up (as often as possible with a newborn) for about two days and saw a drastic improvement.

god i had forgotten about that.. i dont even know HOW i could forget that.

mine stayed with me past 6weeks.

But basically they said the same... leave it be and drink a lot of fluids.

I was soooooooooooooo swollen after my c-section. I couldn't even wear my socks my feet swelled so bad! i went to all the first pediatrician apoointments in the biggest slippers I could find. It will get worse before it gets better! Mine probably lasted 2-3 weeks after my c-section.

I had a TON of swelling and honestly, the ONLY thing you can do is wait it out and drink LOTS and LOTS of water. The water helped immensely. The unfortunate part for me was to get the swelling down and the water retention out I had a ton of night sweats. It was awful but in 3 weeks I was down 65 lbs. and back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
