If you start temping now, or using OPKs, you could abstain during your fertile period. I'm very regular, so we just avoided  around CD 12-CD18, I'm sure we slipped at times, and used pull and pray, after I went off the pill.

You absolutely can get pregnant using the pull and pray lol but that was the only birth control me and my DH used for years and we never got pregnant. The first month we tried to get pregnant and he finished inside  I got pregnant. So I wouldnt be to worried but of course if you did get pregnant i wouldnt be to surprised either but you know what I mean

Yes you can get pregnant using the pull and pray method. There is still pre-cum (Hate using that term ! ). I think the pull and pray method has a 75% effectiveness rate. I think that's what I read in the past. It's definitely much less effective than other forms of birth control.
At this point in your life, I think this is a good option for you though. It sounds like you both are seriously considering ttc soon anyway. If anything you'll have a pleasant surprise if it doesn't work out!!!
