Pull & Pray Question lol
This is sort of the opposite of TTC and so embarrassing that i will probably delete it at the end of the day so please don't quote 
i have been on the pill the entire time i have been with my DH - even though i've been on the pill all of this time he has still always pulled out at my request. we both have been so afraid of an unwanted pregnancy that we both felt more comfortable doing things that way when it came to 
now when i go off the pill in a week   and we is there any real chance i can get pregnant if DH pulls out in time?  i know it's not a reliable form of birth control but the chance of a pregnancy occuring is really slim right?
it seems a lot harder than that to get pregnant, so i'm probably being irrational but i am the type to be overly cautious...
i just don't want a surprise at the end of the month - don't get me wrong it would be a great and awesome surprise but at the same time it would kind of stink if it happened that way without him even getting to "finish" - how ironic would that be besides the fact i want to get a cycle or two in before we try since i have been on the pill for so long...
just reassure me that this isn't a bad idea

you can absolutely. get pregnant with pulling out.
but I will say that I spent my whole adult life trying NOT to get pregnant and being worried about the smallest things - then when it came time that I DID want to get pregnant, I realized it's really not that easy lol.

Well, I am one who manages to get IUIs (putting the sperm directly into the uterus) with 4 follicles floating around and waiting.. and STILL not get pregnant  .....
The odds of the pull and pray thing working are probably pretty good- but if you think it will cause you any anxiety, I'd use a condom.

that sounds like me. i have been terrified of getting pregnant and have been so overly cautious about it that for me stopping birth control is living on the edge
but at the same time, especially after being on this board, it seems like it's not that easy and it takes a lot more effort to actually get pregnant...
but then i know so many people who had surprises when they were not trying at all...

this was mine and DH's bc method for 1-2 years when we dated and never had an accident - which always made me think we would have trouble getting pregnant because i have heard people getting pregnant this way. it can happen

i think at this point i am not nervous anymore. in the last few weeks i must have had a revelation or something my DH also. i think we are both more ready than we thought we were.
it just seems so unlikely that anything could happen. but my overly cautious nature makes me wonder "what if it does happen"....but then i'm like, if it's that easy why are so many people having a hard time...
i just hope that it happens for all of us at some point not to far off in the future

I've been off of the pill for almost 2 years and P&P has been our form of BC since then. Here we are 2 years later and I never got pregnant. I wouldn't say that I'm an example b/c DH and only have sex like 1 or 2x a week and I am older then you.

i would guess that it's going to be a better method of birth control for people who have a harder time conceiving right? i would assume that most of the people who get pregnant using that method must have been very fertile at the time?  does that make sense?
not that it matters because you don't know how easy or hard it will be for you to conceive at any given point until you are actually trying...

One of my friends got pg this way...Up until she was pg he had never "finished" any other way than pulling out...She just had her baby in July...
So...you never know...
ETA: She was also told that she may never be able to have children, and then...

I got pregnant using the pull & pray method.
We always used this method, but we used to avoid BDing during my fertile days. The one time we did BD during my fertile days, I got pregnant.

i know its possible, but the chances are pretty slim...
i think as long as he pulls out with enough time is pretty decent method..obvi not 100%
dh and i way back when before i was on the pill used that method...nada...and since i was off the pill before starting ttc we used that method and nothing!

go for it!! and yes there is a possibility you can pregnant!!
i say throwing caution to the wind is the best way to get pregnant. once you start thinking about it too much and get anal about it, i feel that i becomes a mission impossible.if it happens, YAAAAAAAAY! if not, well, you have the months ahead of you...
ive seen your posts, from what i see you are ready.. just nervous to pull the trigger so to speak

9 years here... i was on BC when we first started dating... and i dont remember why i even went off... and i dont think weve ever used a condom...

ITA. There are a lot of "surprise" visitors on the PG board. If you don't want to get pg yet, use condoms or read up on temping and Natural Family Planning. JMO.

after all the responses i see that it is highly unlikely that i will get pregnant this way, especially since it will be my first month off bcps. i am also aware that it could result in a pregnancy but the chance of that happening is highly unlikely...
i will take the chance since getting pregnant would be something we are okay with at this point and we would almost be welcoming it - it would be a lot easier if it just happened at some point rather than us waiting every month wondering if it's the right time to try...
so i guess once i am done with this pack i will start my vitamins and will start being just a little bit reckless

Its possible but much more possible on fertile days. I've been pulling and praying since Nov when I went off BCP.

thats exactly how i was when on birth control..very careful..then when i went off we used pull and pray with the idea if it happened it happened...2nd month off the pill and Surprise!!! DS is now 2.
