WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
So we are the only fools on our block without a snow blower our neighbors next to us and across the street were nice enough to come over and help us out with their snow blowers. Do you think a "Thank You" is enough or should we send them something? Like a bottle of wine or cookies or maybe a thank you note?
WWYD? I feel weird just saying thank you...i feel like we should do something else?

I would send some cookies, who doesn't appreciate warm cookies on a cold day

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
We just did our neighbors and I would NEVER expect or even want anything more than a Thank You. It's kind of fun to do it anyway. Honestly, if you want to it's nice but, I think it's totally not needed. I would probably be embarassed if my neighbor brought me something as a thank you.

I think this is nice. It's not even a big thank you, just a hey I'm stuck in the house and felt like baking, so they shouldn't feel weird about it.

My MILs neighbor came and snow blowed their entire driveway and everyone else in the neighborhood.
She sent over a platter of homemade holiday cookies as a thank you.

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
My neighbor has a snow blower and bails us out every year. I gave him $60 to fill his gas tank. He will do this for us each time it snows. Well worth it. He didn't want to take it but gas is expensive and he didn't have to do it.

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
our neighbor stopped exactly at his property line
the other neighbor, 2 houses down who is almost 80 wanted to use his push snow blower to help DH shovel but he told him it was ok.
when i was a kid my dad always used the snow blowers for a few neighbors. 1 would just say thank you (which is enough...he never expected more) but the 2 other neighbors would send a bottle of wine over for the "season" and the other bought him cigars.

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
We live in a complex but DH shovels out ours and our neighbors cars as well as the walk way. They always just thank him and it's enough. They're elderly so they cant do it. One of the husbands usually hangs outside with DH so he doesnt have to be alone and last year he had his grandsons come do our cars for us.

you guys have nice neighbors, I was out by myself and not 1 neighbor asked me if i needed help. I guess some neighbors keep to themselves. i would definetely give them chocolate chip cookies for helping.

DH just snowblowed the neighbors out and they brought us some cookies. Not necessary, but very nice. DH is having so much fun with his new toy, I think he is going to clean the whole block!!

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
my parents were away for one of the big storms last year. i went at night to shovel the first time and when I came back in the morning to finish, it was done already.
My mom's neighbor did it and she bought him a GC to the local pizza place .

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
that is very nice of you. imo something baked is the way to go- crumbcake, pie, cookies, brownies, whatever you like to make if you are a baker. if not, a bottle of wine should do the trick too.

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
Our neighbor is doing our property. DH felt bad for calling him since he's trapped at work and I'm stuck in the house with 2 sick babies. The neighbor didn't mind at all and told us he enjoys using a snow blower to do the whole block since his property is small.
I'm just sticking a thank you note with a late holiday card in his box.

Re: WWYD? Neighbor's who help you out in the snow?
The man that lives around the corner (2 houses down) always comes by and clears our sidewalk and driveway with his snowblower. Such a nice guy! DH makes sure that when it's a light layer that he goes over there and shovels..plus we always say thank you.

Our neighbor got a snow blower for Christmas so he helped out DH. Even though we have a gravel driveway. I gave him some cookies and candy I had leftover
