Re: Will you leave the oven on when you leave the house?

Being married to a fireman, I would never leave anything running when I leave the house, I hear so many scary and sad stories all the time!

I do, and I will leave on the washer/dryer and dishwasher.

I would never, I'm too chicken.

Also, when I was little, my friend down the blocks parents left the washer/dryer on and left the house -- and they had a big fire. I guess I'm traumatized by the memory ...

Re: Will you leave the oven on when you leave the house?

I do it, but I guess I learned to do it from my parents... they do it as well. I also leave the crock pot going when I'm out all day.

The farthest I will go is the deli on the corner or down to the basement if I am doing laundry.

Oven, dryer - no; washer, dishwasher - yes
I get nervous leaving the Crockpot unattended.

Re: Will you leave the oven on when you leave the house?

1000% NO!!!!! My cousin's house burned down that way. She put a roast in the oven, went out for a run for about 1/2 hour, and came back to find her house burnt down to the ground with her 2 dogs inside. Chat Icon

Nope. I dont own this house. It is not my house to take chances with and frankly, my insurance doesnt cover all that much.

Re: Will you leave the oven on when you leave the house?

Nope I'm a chicken...wouldn't do it. I wouldnt be able to enjoy church in peace worrying about the oven plus I have pets and I would be devastated if God forbid something happened with the oven and they get hurt.

Re: Will you leave the oven on when you leave the house?

Never... I don't even leave the washer/dryer on when I leave the house any more after hearing horror stories about them catching on fire. I'm also too chicken to leave the crock pot on when I'm not home.
