Why did I get a pack n play?
Ok so DD is 2.5mths now and I still have no idea what I'm supposed to be using this pack n play for. She has a crib although she still sleeps in the bassinett in our room she has plenty of knicknacks to put her in around the house (bouncy seat, swing, etc...). I'm worried that by the time I find a use for it she'll be too big to use it. What does everyone use their pack n play for and how long can a baby use it for?

We use it if we go to the grandparents house for any length of time and DD needs to nap. I also had my friend visit and her DD slept in it. Other than that....I agree.....what a waste

I'm still using mine for the changing table part--Katherine is 14 months. It's also like a toy box for us too. It was also necessary for us for overnight trips.
She was never a baby who liked being confined, so she would only stay in it for like 10 minutes though.
Overall, I really like it and I hope this next one takes to it to play in!

My mom lives next to door to us so ours is in her house. We use whenever i'm next door (which is all the time) Right now I use it mostly for changing him and once he gets older and starts moving around more then he can chill in there and play and move around.

DS takes his naps in his pack n play. We have that downstairs, his room is upstairs. He also plays in it for short periods of time.

we use ours all the time. We use the changing table, she'll play in there, and when she is not using it, all her toys are in there..including the bouncy seat so that it is out of the way.

we use it all the time. we used the bassinet part when she was a first born so people could comeover and visit and not have to leave the room. now we use it for her to keep busy so i can do things aorund the house. we also used the pack and play for when we went out of state we used it as a place for olivia to sleep

I think we felt that way at about the same age. Then when they start rolling over it's useful b/c she can roll around in it w/o getting hurt. So in the beginning we used it just for napping downstairs occasionally. Now she plays in it and I think we'll use it even more when she gets a little older and can crawl if I need to contain her  .

We barely ever use ours. It is basically a waste of space for us. I actually tried Ryan in it for the first time in about 3 months and it lasted about 15 minutes. I'm hoping to keep trying.

Right now i have it in my den and use the changing station to change him when I am downstairs, the basinett part is basically use dnow to hold some toys and blankets that I have in the den. He never sleeps in it.
When he sits up on his own, I plan on using it as a play pen, so he can play in peace for a litttle with out worrying about the dog stealing all his toys!

you might that you use more when they get older. My son is 14 months an no where near outgrowing it. He naps in it during the day and sometimes watces tv or plays in it. I plan to keep him in it till he is 2.

We bought one that has the bassinet feature so that's what Liam sleeps in. When he's too big for that we'll use it as a small playpen I guess.

We use it alot, we have a steep staircase and I didn't want to go up & down with the baby when we first came home from the hospital, so she sleeps in there during the day alot and I use the changing table lots and lots during the day. And we haven't yet, but it is good to use if you are going to be at someones house all day, it is very portable.

We kept ours downstairs. When I was home with him, I didn't want to go upstairs all the time so I used it for his naps. When he started crawling, I would put him in it with toys when I need to get some stuff done or keep him from getting into things.

Ive always used a packn play, but Ive heard of people never using them at all. depends so much with each child.

James loves his. He's in there right now kicking away and cooing at his toys. He'll nap in there sometimes too.

i use mine every single day. spencer is going to be one and i put him in there to be safe when i 'm cooking, taking care of the other kids, showering, whatever. he plays in it, watches tv in it and he is totally safe!!! wait till your little one is crawling and then you will apreciate it!!
