Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
DH and I are debating where our little peanut will sleep...
in a crib in their own room?
in a pack n' play in our room?
in the stroller bassinet in our room?
Any thoughts?

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
With our DS, he slept in his crib in his room from day 1 when we brought him home from the hospital.
Although when we were downstairs during the day, he slept in the PNP. But at night, in his crib.

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
Bassinet in our room for the first two months (I got one that converts to a co-sleeper). Once she is basically sleeping through the night, crib in her own room!

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
Originally I was going to have the baby in his crib from the start.
Then a friend of DH's family gave me her bassinet which is so beautiful I was going to have the baby in it for the first month or 2.
NOW, after talking to my doctor and others I think I'm going to go with what he said - "The American Pediatric Association suggests that the baby sleeps in the the same room as the parents in a bassinet from 0-6months at night, and in his crib for naps during the day."
I think up to 3 months max in the bassinet but we can see. Lol.

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
I planned to put the baby in the bassinet part of the PNP in our room for the first few months. All plans went out the window when DS was born. He was hysterical when we put him in the bassinet. He also hated the crib. He wanted to be held 24/7. I held him in my arms for months. It wasn't the ideal situation, but it was the only way we could get some sleep. If you plan to BF, IMO it's easier to have the baby in your room at the beginning. Keep your sleeping options open and do whatever works best for you and your baby.

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
We got the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper so between that and our bed, I know our infant will be comfy, cozy. I'm not sure how long we'll keep up this closeness but to me womb to crib is too much transition. Eventually the baby will be fully separate during sleep hours, but I like the benefits that co-sleeping and bed sharing afford.

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
Thanks everyone! We are leaning towards having our little peanut sleep in our room and debating the proper gear. Probably the bassinet of the pack n' play...
Does anyone know if the bassinets that come with the stroller are safe for sleeping in? We are planning on getting the baby jogger city mini with the bassinet.
Thanks!

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
With DD#1 the plan was to keep her in the bassinet in our room until I went back to work. Well she screamed the entire 1st night home from the hospital every time we put her down in it. On the 2nd night we put her in her crib and she slept 4 hours. That's where she's been since then.
DD#2 will probably go in a bassinet in our room for a while and then they will be sharing a room.

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
Just for the first 4-6 weeks he'll be sleeping in a basinett in our bedroom...right next to DHs side of the bed per DH LOL. Then he'll move a whole 6 feet away to the next bedroom over to his own crib. We don't have enough room in our bedroom for the pack n play in there, so I think he'll be just fine.

Re: Where do plan to have your infant sleep?
Bassinet in our room until he/she grows out of it, then a pack N play until we move. I don't want to buy a full set of furniture just to have to move it. I am moving when the baby is around 5 months old.
