when did your toddler stop talking naps?

My ds is 14 1/2 months and has been refusing to nap the past 3 days. When did your lo stop napping all together? How did you know it was the end of the naps? I'm hoping its just these few days!! I need that down time lol.

My older DD was 2 years 2 months...my younger DD still takes them most of the time at 4 years 2 months!

My DS stopped napping all together at around 15 months. He was cranky for months but never napped again unless he was sick.

My DD didn't stop taking regular, daily naps until age 3.5

DS is starting to take them less frequently now at 3 - max maybe 3x a week.

3yrs and 2 months

We went through several phases were he wasn't nappping or was only napping 25 minutes, etc. I continued with our nap routine and he always went back to napping. I knew he needed it. I would not have considered the end of the nap until after age 2.5.

Even now at 3 DS needs a nap but he doesn't need it until much later in the day which then interferes with bedtime. Not fun, it's a tough transition.

14 months is way too early to drop naps. At that age my DS was still taking 2 naps. Try moving the nap a bit, earlier or later, look for the sleepy signs, just try different things. I remember at one point I rocked my DS to sleep for his nap just to get him to fall asleep and then transferred. He hadn't napped in days and I felt like I needed him to get back into the habit of napping. Did the trick and once he realized he was napping and stopped fighting it, I stopped rocking. Took maybe 4 days.

My oldest stopped at 3 yrs 3 months
My youngest still loves his 2.5-3 hr nap at 2.5

At about 22 months he stopped napping every day.
He went through a phase around 15-16 months with no naps. But not everyday..

It may just be a phase. Try adjusting the time of his nap. Maybe it needs to be later. My sleep bible, which I refer to for every sleep question, is Sleep Easy Solution. My daughter will be 3 in April, and she still naps for at least 2 hours a day!

My boys are 3yo and 14 months old and are both still regular nappers. My 3yo takes a daily nap that is 1.5-2.5 hours. My 14mo naps twice a day, for 2-3 hours each time.

2.5 yrs for DD and DS...it was the day they stopped using their binkie! boooo!

I don't remember exactly, but it was definitely around two for my kids. They would still fall asleep in the car if we were out and transfer at that age, but never just go down for a nap if we were home.

ITA!!!!

mine still naps 2x at 20m. we can skip the second nap most days and shes fine if we need too but it still benefits us to have two so we are keeping it for now.

i honestly dont want to think about what it will be like with NO naps

DS just turned 4 and still naps. He can't nap on his 2 school days, so he falls asleep much earlier those days. I've had times when I thought he was trying to give up his nap, but I thought it was too soon so I just kept up with the routine and he got back on track. If he tried to give it up now I'd be fine with it, but he hasn't.

DS is 3 yrs 4 months and it is hit or miss. He goes to school for a full day and typically naps on the bus for about 20 minutes. He refused his nap yesterday and I forced him to nap today and got about 50 minutes of uninterrupted appetizer prep time

Ann will be 4 in July and still naps once a day (they still have nap at daycare, so I'm not messing with it!!). She does gymnastics on Saturday mornings and *needs* a nap after lunch but sometimes on Sunday, if she tells me she doesn't want to nap, I'll let it go.

DD is 25 months she goes to daycare during the week and naps anywhere between 1-1.5 hours. On the weekends its hit or miss somtimes it takes a while to get her to nap. She needs a nap if she doesnt nap she is asleep by 6:30-7:00

I remember DD trying to give up naps a few times but I would still consistenly put her down. Sometimes she would stay awake in there for an hour, just rolling around. Then eventually she would get back into the routine. 14 months is definitely too young to stop napping, maybe she is just going on strike for a while. I would keep with the routine and hopefully she will get back into the swing of things soon.

AJ will be 5 in August.. and still takes one nap a day. She'll tell me "I'm tired, can we finish this after I wake up?" haha no matter if we are doing something or not. What are we gonna finish AJ? "I dont know, I'm tired, ok? I'll be back after a small (makes a hand gesture like 'little') nap, Ok? I'll be in here (points to her room) if you need anything".

DD is almost 15 months.. and she fights her naps! Finally she does give in and nap but its a struggle. Bed time is also a struggle now.
