When did you DC start to hold their own bottle
Aj is 7 months and will not hold his own bottle. He holds his sippy cups with the handles but not his bottle.
He does grab the bottle and holds it and squirts the nipple at me so formula gets all over me but refuses to feed himself.
What age did your DC begin to bottle feed themselves?

About 2 weeks before she went to sippy cups - I think she was about 14-15 months 
She was lazy, I guess

Never. He COULD do it around 7 months, but chose not to
Never had a problem with the sippy cups tho. Weird kid

8.5 months. We were at Corinne's house for a playdate with Olivia and Ava saw Olivia holding her own bottle and I could tell she was thinking, "Hey! I never thought to do that!" And she never needed me to hold it again after that.

DD has been trying to hold it for the last few weeks...she does it until she really gets into drinking it...then she expects me to hold it...guess shes just concentrating too much on getting her formula down!

at about 7.5 months she could hold the 4oz bottles pretty consistently. She still can't hold a full 6oz bottle.

At about 6 months she started to hold it, but only to play with it.
She looooooooves to turn it upside down and spill the formula out.

With Caden I want to say 5 Months but it might be 6 Months...
The twins were a week shy of their 4 Month birthday...
Ariel was basically a year old...(she could she just couldnt be bothered)

about 7 mos but he did the same as your DS...he started holding the sippy first..
I have now seen that a lot of it is laziness..He knew i would feed him. But daycare stuck it out and he just one day did it..

4.5 months. It was a glorious day!!!! He finally would take the bottle without a fight and gave my breasts a break!!!!!  But at 10 months, he still won't always hold it UP and will s^ck air! (Unless he's laying down, so position just holds it up for him.)

at 10 months DS still wont hold his bottle, he has tried to hold his sippy cup but would rather throw it everywhere, so i bought the Nuby sippy straw cups and he actually holds those, but of course he wont take formula out of it, just water and juice.
I may be the one to blame though, i have always propped his bottles up with blankets. i hope one day soon he will hold his own bottle.

Deb, G is 11.5 months & just started to hold her bottle WHEN SHE WANTS but 99% I still hold it. She too holds her sippy cup (but that started around 10 months).

DS started around 4 months, he too loves to be in control. He can easily hold the 4oz bottle, but the 8oz one still gives him trouble. If I give him water, he has to hold the bottle, I wont feed him water, so he is getting used to holding it more and more!
This AM he tried to hold the 8oz bottle, he was sitting upright and was just getting air, he doesnt quite get it yet! Oh and if he is tired he will cry but he will not hold his bottle.

DD will be 9 months next week  and she still won't hold it - she started to and knows how but sometimes doesn't grasp that you need to lift it to get the milk out
