When did your DC hold their own bottle?

My son is 6 months old and so many people are telling me their kids held their own bottle by now. I know you shouldn't compare but it bothers me because my son won't even try to do it when I teach him. I know he's strong enough because he lifts and holds heavier items - in fact I think he's just lazy and wants me to be there and hold it for him!

When did your DC do it on his own, and did you have to teach them or did they just do it?

DD is 6 months and will occassionally hold it with her feet, yes feet. Once in a blue moon she'll use her hands but only for a few minutes.

So to sum up, I still hold her bottleChat Icon

5 months old. She would always "hold" the bottle while we fed her and one day we started letting go and she would hold it longer and longer each time. Then one day she held it the whole time and has ever since.

DD does everything with her hands - plays with toys, balls, picks up a teething biscuit to eat, her nuks, sippy cup, etc...but when it comes to her bottle - when she sees it she puts her arms down to her sides like "Feed Me" and won't hold it. She is 6 1/2 months.
