Everything I have read even says that a glass of wine is fine.
Im gonna talk to my doc, if/when im PG and see what they say.
I was shocked when I read you should not eat cold cuts.
Cold cuts??????????
because of the sodium i believe
No..........because of the risk of listeria actually which can kill a developing fetus.

Re: what will u follow..
Ive been avoiding alcohol and limiting my intake of caffeine and artificial sweetners. I eat evrything else in moderation. As far as cold cuts are concerned, Ive been eating them throughout my pregnancy. As long as you buy from a place that is clean and the meat is constantly moving you should be fine.

whatever the doctor suggests!
That's exactly what I do.
I asked my doctor at our first appointment about some of the things I'd read about and he gave me the usual list he discusses.
He told me deli meats are fine if they're bought in a package from the store (not from the counter) -- same with deli cheeses. It's just the use of the slicing machine in an open deli that worries him. Since y'all are in NY not NC like me, there are many better quality and cleaner delis around there so you can judge better. I stick to the store packaged stuff that's marked "cooked" and "pasteurized."
He said no sushi or raw fish. No alcohol. Splenda is fine but any other artificial sweeteners in moderation. I didn't ask about caffeine because I never have any (except chocolate milk or hot cocoa once in a while).
What made me most sad is no smoked salmon / lox. DH has strict instructions to bring me a bagel with lox and cream cheese to the hospital after I give birth. I keep asking at appointments and both docs have said no. I miss my lox so much.
I had well done tuna the other day and DH was annoyed at me... I asked the OB after and he said no more than 12 oz a week... and how in the world did I eat it well done!! I told him sometimes you get desperate. But I'm gonna stay away from having it again for the next month because of the mercury (which he said was the problem).
Ugh I'm way too verbose.
