I think it's a sense of accomplishment, especially after all of the hard work you put into making it your "home." It's a nice feeling to sit back and take pride in creating such a warm place.

to know it is mine, in the apt u couldnt paint or really hang anything.

I love that NO ONE can hear me

there is no one walking above us!

I love doing home improvements and bettering the house

it is VERY private

we are soooooooooooo happy

Not having neighbors on the other side of the wall. I like space.

I can do what I want to the house, when I want. I want black walls, I can paint them black (Ok, OK, the wife won't really let me, but you get the idea... ). Don't like the flooring? Put down something different.

Plus, I hate giving all my money to someone else, just to live under their roof. By owning, I'm investing in myself.

I feel like a grown-up. I feel accomplished and just really at a good place.

I also feel like I've learned so much about the Real Estate Market. Buying our home was a true first hand learning experience for me because I asked a million questions. They'll sit in my pocket until next house hunting time.

I feel much better about improvements and decorating. It doesn't come with an eye roll or a grunt (thinking, I'm doing this for someone else)

I love the feeling when I pull into my driveway at the end of the day. It is a sense of accomplishment & pride. We did not have to do much work to our house, but the work we did, makes us smile daily

I love the privacy & knowing that no one can see or hear what I am doing inside

Being able to have multi-levels to escape to if DH has a card game or vice versa.

The joys of decorating my house & making it a home for DH & I. We enjoy the memories that we have made in 2 years & look forward to the many more!

Sitting in the backyard & just looking at our hardwork. It is so private, so I can go outside in my PJ's if I wanted

I love having a yard, after living in a townhouse for many years I really enjoy the freedom to plant what we want & the privacy of our yard. We host all of the holidays because we have a house that is laid out best for parties, I love being able to have the place our family will remember as the tradition for holidays.
The sense of accomplishment & pride.

That it is ours to do what we want with.
We can have pets!!
I know for DH he loves that he can play movies and music loud.
That when we pay the mortgage we know that we are investing in us, not giving the money to someone else.

I love having a driveway, a yard and a washer and dryer. I spent a number of years in a high rise in Hoboken and I really appreciate not having to look for a parking spot and not having someone throw my laundry out of the washing machine if I am not there the second it is done.

Having a backyard so I don't have to walk the dogs anymore

Having a gargage so I don't have to scrap snow off my car.

The pride in knowing that we own it.

The peace and quiet of not having someone attached to us.

Knowing that this is where we will raise our family a make lots of memories.

It is just wonderful.

- Not paying someone else mortgage
- Not having to deal with landlords
- Not having neighboors on the other side of the walls
- I can paint or knock down walls if I want to
- I can have pets

Privacy def. is one of the top, being able to have people over and entertain and not worry about who is sleeping, noise, etc...

Also, it gives you a different appreciation for working, putting money away and putting work and pride into something that is yours.

The fact that I feel like I can do and buy things that are somewhat "permanent." In an apt I would never spend a big chunk of change on furniture bc I didnt know what our house would eventually look like or if it would fit.

Painting the walls.

To be honest, I wish it was "financially accepted" to rent my entire life. I liked not having the responsibility of things when they broke.... I liked not worrying that every little stain and nick will decrease the value when we sell it in a few years, what property values are like in the neighborhood, etc.

BUt I know its good to have equity...blah blah blah.

The biggest plus for me is being able to walk out the front door to walk my dog rather than wait for the elevator. Its amazing how much time i gained by this alone!

1. We can get a dog if we want
2. So far, nice neighbors, nice neighborhood
3. More space so we aren't on top of each other = no more watching football for me!

Not hearing the door slam downstairs anymore in our apartment building.

All the pride and knowledge we have right now about our house. It really makes us smile when we think about how bad the house was when we first bought it.

Being able to go into our backyard and relax (when we aren't doing work on the houses of course )

Something to finally call "Home"! I love that the most.

Let the dog out at any hour

It's all ours, no one elses, just ours

We are building equity in something and not "throwing" our money away

Decorate, paint however we want

A real sense of accomplishment.
The pride in knowing that we're doing this together, without help from anyone else.
We can make any changes we want to make it "ours".
It sets the stage for the continuation of our family.
