What are you planning
when you go back to work? If you go back to work? Daycare or will you have someone in your family take care of the baby? Or will you be able to stay home??

Re: What are you planning
DD #1 already goes to daycare so DC #2 would be joining her.

Re: What are you planning
This has been a tough one for me. I love my career but I have one heck of a commute. I wouldn't be getting a whole lot time with the baby. Ideally, I'll work from home because we can use the extra income, but it wouldn't be with my current company.

Re: What are you planning
My MIL does childcare for a living, so we're thinking her and hopefully my mom will be retiring in a year so she can help out too.

Re: What are you planning
Our latest "plan" is I'll stay home the first 6 months, then go back to work full time (but work from home one day a week); and have a nanny at the house. Sounds great in theory....We'll see what actually happens when our time comes! I love my job very much so I hope to be able to balance everything.

Re: What are you planning
Take maybe 2 months off. My mom just retired so she will watch our baby.
I would love to be a SAHM but that won't happen unless we win the lotto!

this would be ideal for me too, and i might just be able to swing it since I am in medical sales... I pray that I can talk my management into this when the time comes

Re: What are you planning
We can't afford for either DH or I to be a stay at home parent unfortunately. So in an IDEAL world, I would LOVE for me to care for the baby on weekends (my days off), for DH to take care of the baby 2 days during the week (his days off) and for my MIL or a daycare to have the baby the other 3 weekdays.
That being in an IDEAL world. I'm not sure how comfortable DH would be with an infant all on his own, so we would have to see how it plays out in real life.

Re: What are you planning
We're still really unsure. My Dad just retired, but I'm not sure he can handle watching my kids, and I'm not sure it's even fair to ask him. I want him to enjoy his retirement. So, that would leave us with daycare because we have no other family. If my Dad watches our kid, DH will probably switch to an 11:30-8 shift and I'll work 8-3 with no lunch so he'd only have the kid for like 4 hours. And hopefully I'd be able to work from home 1 day per week.

Re: What are you planning
SAHM
We figure if I go back to work we would end up spending a majority of my salary on child care anyway.

Re: What are you planning
Unfortunately we can't afford for SAH anything. Day care will have to be our plan. DH was already looking into the one across the street from his job

We dont have any family members who can help us . :( I plan on going to 3-4 day work weeks and daycare. I dont really have a family friendly career so it is going to be tough!

Re: What are you planning
I wish I had a choice. I would like to be a SAHM but dont think that is possible. I will have to probably do Day care. But from what I hear there are so many places that put you on a wait list that you almost have to sign up the day you concieve.

Yeah I would love to be able to stay home as well but that won't be possible either. It'll probably be day care!
