Well he's gone now
I was a complete and utter wreck.
We all went - me, DH, baby, and the girls. Of course Cailen wanted his bottle right before we had to take Storm in, so poor DH had to stand there and feed Cailen while crying.
I was ok the whole time in the waiting room, but when they took him out and lay him down, and began to put the sedative in, it was just so sad. I was SOBBING. Like a 2 year old.
then I knew as soon as he died. I just felt it. I knew. But - I SWORE I heard him purring. I didnt even tell DH this, but I heard him purring even after I asked if he was dead, and the vet checked his heart and said it stopped.
I know I heard him purr...
I stood there and cried some more. Even the vet and the vet tech were crying... does that happen????

Re: Well he's gone now
As far as I know, no one knows exactly where the purring comes from, and I'm not sure if it can happen when they are passing, but if you think you heard it, I believe that you did.

Re: Well he's gone now
I dont know if that can happen.
But if it makes you feel at peace, then yes, it happened if that is how you recall it.
I am so sorry, it is so sad and traumatic. Time will make it feel a bit easier....my heart goes out to you.

I know that a cat cannot purr after it dies - I mean I still heard him purring after I knew he was dead - so his spirit was probably still there and communicating thru purring.... I didnt mean he was literally and mechanically purring ladies - I meant I HEARD him purring!!!

Re: Well he's gone now
If you heard purring, than take that as a sign that he's ok. Don't second guess what you heard or felt in your heart.
