Re: Ultrascreen results
The ultrascreen isn't an exact science, it's jut giving you the odds. And your results are still less than 1% chance of downs. The odds are still in your favor that everything is fine. But it's good you're getting the CVS for some peace of mind. Good luck!

Lots of luck to you I am waiting on my results and am a nervous wreck as I know my age may sent things off and if it does I will freak out.

Re: Ultrascreen results
good luck..i'm sure everything will be fine..are u older? Apparantly that makes a HUGE difference in the number results. I didn't think my results were so great either, but apparantley they were within the norm for my age.

Re: Ultrascreen results
Please don't worry. The ultrascreen is just a screening that gives you results based upon information run in a mathematical algorythm that no one understands. I had a 1/7 chance for DS and my baby is fine. Good luck!

Re: Ultrascreen results
Same thing happened to me. I also went to Wintrop Perinatal Assocaites for my CVS and Dr. Jolene Muscat did my CVS and Dr. Chavez did my echocardiogram!
I will say, while totally stressful, getting the results of the CVS test in a few days was a blessing! Everything turned out fine. Actually, no one could believe that the baby had such a high neck thickness and he was born last week perfectly healthy!
Hang in there!! FM if you have any questions. I feel like I just went through it, and now I sit and stare at my perfect little boy!

Re: Ultrascreen results
Yes, my quad screen came back bad for neural tube defects, like 1 in 20. So far, all the evidence suggest my baby is fine, but I know how scary this is. I'm sorry you are going through this, but you're chances a still great that everything is fine.

Re: Ultrascreen results
Best of luck to you! The ultrascreen has a lot of false positives, from what I've read, and even with that, the odds are still in your favor.

Re: Ultrascreen results
My quad screen came back with a soft marker for DS. I did the amnio and everything is fine. It is so hard not to stress, I know. Prayers for you and your LO.

Re: Ultrascreen results
My friend went thru something similar with her #'s and all ended up to be fine. I know how stressful this can be. Lots of and to you!
I see Dr. Chavez and many of the other perinatlogist there and they are wonderful. You could not be in better hands with Dr. Chavez. He is BEYOND thorough and puts the patient first no matter what!

Re: Ultrascreen results
I have heard of so many people getting inaccurate results on their ultrascreens. I have also been to Winthrop Perinatal. They are very thourough there and will do a great job. You are in good hands. Good luck and keep us posted!

Re: Ultrascreen results
My NT was good but my bloodwork brought my risk down to 1 in 66. I freaked right before the holidays and cried for days. DH and I opted out of amnio.I saw a genetic counselor who explained the testing. It definitely IS NOT 100% that anything is wrong. I have researched and seen so many false positives too.My next bloodwork (apf)brought my odds to 1 in 466, and tests since then showed no soft markers and all looks great.Btw, I am high risk and a patient of Winthrop contemporary care and Winthrop Perinatal and Dr. Chavez as well as the other doctors there are fantastic! You are in great caring hands. Good luck and prayers to you.

Re: Ultrascreen results
yes. I was diagnosed with 1 in 215 but for my age it is 1 in 270. I decided to wait for teh level 2 sono which i had today. At this time, i do not want an amnio. I have tried for a long time to get pregnant and even the smallest risk is too much for me.. the level 2 decreased my odds to 1 in 500 or so .. so i feel much better. If you want to vent.. feel free to fm me!
