the king size mattress we bought is not going to fit up the stairs. They will bring it back if it doesnt fit. The queen size fit snuggly w/o bending it. In order to get the king up since its 16 inches wider, we are going to have to bend it a little. I hope thats okay.

If it does not fit, I guess we will have to create a king with two twin beds, get the connectors they sell and put a good quality memory foam topper on it!

I dont think I can keep sleeping on a queen ... I need more space.

Has anyone done this?

Do you have a double hung window? If it can be taken out, then you might be able to have a professional hoist it through. I see it done on those home decorating shows and think I can't believe that they are doing that, but if they can, well it might be a solution to your problem.

I know people who have done it. If you really want a king, and that's what you have to do, then it will be ok. We would have had to do that too but just stuck with the Queen.

We have a narrow stairway with a weird turn up top and we got a king mattress up to our bedroom. You might have to bend it and squeeze it through a bit, but it shouldn't be an issue!

You can bend a mattress, no biggie. Box springs are usually the problem but most king sized box springs are split.

We fit our King mattress up stairs and had to make a tight turn - no problems.

you can bend that thing right in half... wont void warrenty.... this was out concern when buying a king for our co-op... we shopped around (JCP, Macys, Sleepys etc..) always asking the same question about fitting it. were on the 2nd floor with a tight bend at the top of the stairs... they all said not a problem to bend it... one place even pulled a mattress off display and showed us how much they actually fold...
