Ugh- any advice?

So I am really early. Like, I think AF was/is due either yesterday or today.

Here's my timeline of obsessiveness:
I took an EPT test on Thursday morning and got a VERY faint +. But when I used a FRER that I had laying around, it was a definite BFN.

Later that day, I took a FRER and got a very faint + and also a + on a digital.

Because I am a loser, of COURSE I've continued to take tests.

Well- they aren't getting any darker. I took an EPT this morning with FMU and it is positive, but still very faint.

I still have light spotting when I "go", so the faint positives are worrying me.

Anyone have this?

Why don't you try a digital? I know those are a lot more sensitive... I think a lot of us have gotten freaked over those "faint" lines etc.

When is your 1st Dr. appointment?

I took alot of tests too, just to make sure. What I found the easiest to read was the ept digital. It's a little more expensive, but it was clearly printed "pregnant" or "not pregnant" on the display.
HTH

A little spotting in the beggining is normal.

Re: Ugh- any advice?

Thanks ladies. I haven't called the Dr yet because I knew they wouldn't see me until 8 weeks. I suppose I'll call tomorrow to ask about a blood test.

With both my previous pregnacies, the test results got progressively darker. This time, they are staying very faint which worries me that there might be something else going on.....Chat Icon

Mind over matter Amy and try to stay positive Chat Icon Chat Icon

Call tomorrow and let them know what's going on and I'm sure they'll get you in.

Until then...you're in my thoughts Chat Icon

Re: Ugh- any advice?

I agree - go get a digital. You are still very early which could be why the faint line isn't getting any darker yet.

And, call your dr. for a blood test! Chat Icon

if AF was due yesterday or today then its still early. i would try again in a couple of days. You were probably way early when you tested originally.

Re: Ugh- any advice?

Go to the doctor for a regular GYN visit. Tell them you have strange symptoms and need a checkup.

You're going to make yourself crazy, trying to figure out whats wrong yourself.

My doc took me at 4 weeks. Of course I said nothing about thinking I was pregnant. Just that I need a checkup.

Re: Ugh- any advice?

Like the other girls said, I would just test with the digitals from now on. Why torture yourself, KWIM? I know it's hard considering you're a BTDT mommy, but remember... every pregnancy is different. I would wait a day or two and take a digital. If you do go to the OB, you'll have to go back again two days later for a repeat blood test so they can compare the numbers. Hang in there! I know it is disconcerting but give it a little time. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Maybe the spotting is implantation bleeding or something?

I would take another digital and then just wait it out until you can go to the doctor.

i don't have any advice because i only used dollar tree tests this time (and a digital to confirm) but for me they didn't get darker until i was a week late.

Re: Ugh- any advice?

Thanks ladies-I appreciate the responses. I just have a bad feeling for some reason that this might be a chemical pregnancy/blighted ovum. I never had spotting with either of my other pregnancies, nor days of faint BFPs.

Even though I know worrying isn't going to change anything as "whatever will be, will be" it's so hard not to.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this type of thing happen and then went on to have a typical pregnancy?

Thanks LB- your response gave me some comfort (as well as everyone elses)!

Re: Ugh- any advice?

With DD, the + was very faint and I had spotting for a week or so. As the other ladies suggested, it made me feel better to confirm with a digital. BTW, congrats!!!
