Tylenol before shots?
DS has his 2 month appt and is getting shots today.... Did anyone give LO Tylenol before going to dr?

My ped says no bc it can mask any symptoms that would normally prevent them from administering the shots (i.e. low grade fever, etc)

This is a good point considering the first thing they do is take a temp.
The tylenol won't keep him from feeling the shot so I don't really see any reason to give it beforehand. I never gave anything unless DD started to get fussy which never happened until hours later if at all. GL!

Totally agree. I only give tylenol after shots, if needed (very rare).

No, I would never give my LO tylenol before having a shot and I've rarely given it after one.

No. DS never even needed it after. I do not give my DS tylenol even for teething unless he is inconsolable.
Chances are your DC will have no reaction other than hating to get shots so don't rush to give tylenol.

I give it right after when I get home... After dd had a horrible experience after her first shots, I vowed never again to let her go through that!

Tylenol before shots?
Give it right after the shots. We didn't bc it's "rare" they need it....well 4 hours later dd was hysterical and inconsolable. Thankfully the Tylenol helped. From now on she gets if after th shots as a precaution

I never did. Only after IF she needed it because of a low grade fever, which only happened once.
