giving tylenol before shots?
on monday we are going to the ped for lexi's 2 month shots. my mom told me to give her tylenol before we go because it will help with pain and she said that it will also help if she gets a fever from them. has anyone else done this and is it even ok to give a 2 month old tylenol? my mom did it with me but that was 22 years ago and she did a lot of other stuff that isnt ok these days lol.

My Ped always tells me to give it to my girls before the appointment but I always forget. So I give it after the appointment.

Our ped told us to give tylenol before his shots. We were told this before his 1 and 2 months shots, and to continue before every shot after that. Just follow the guidelines of how much to give by weight of DD.

thanks but now i got another question. DD hasnt been weighed since she was 3 weeks so i have no idea how much she weighs and i dont have any way to weigh her before the appt. do i guess? or should i just wait and give it to her after the shots?

I can't remember what the first guidelines were, but I remember what they changed to at 18 pounds. If you have the guidelines, they shouldn't be too differerent in one month. If you want to know, just weigh yourself, then grab DD without clothes or a diaper and weigh the both of you. I t will give you a guideline there.

Just wait till you get in the car after the appointment it will still have enough time to kick in.. Then you will have her weight too
