THE BODIES EXHIBITION...

Has anybody gone to the Bodies Exhibition at South Street Seaport?

I am going on Wednesday, and need to know how long it takes.

Is it a walk through thing that you do in groups, or alone?

Did you like it?

Re: THE BODIES EXHIBITION...

I did it on a Sunday morning with my husband and it took us about an hour. We did it pretty quick though... I loved it because that is what my background is and DH thought it was really interesting too and he normally doesn't like that sort of thing...

Re: THE BODIES EXHIBITION...

We went last April I think (a year ago). It was really cool. DH is a science teacher, and our 2 friends are Bio teachers, so it took us a while to go through (2 hours). It was a rainy day, so I'm thinking people had nothing else to do, b/c it was packed. YOu could definitely go through it faster, there's lots of stuff to read at each display, so you can either read in depth, or skim.

I'd say give yourself at least an hour, maybe two, depending on how much you want to read/know, and how busy it is.

YOu walk yourselves through, at your own pace. You can rent audio devices that give you a tour I think, we didn't do it though.

Have fun-- it is amazing!

DH wants to do that but I'm not good w/ that kind of stuff-- it freaks me out. We'll see. He wants to do it because he is going into Med School so he finds that sort of stuff interesting.

Thanks everyone...I'll give myself 2 hours just to be safe.

I get a little grossed out at stuff like this, but for some reason, i'm so intrigued by it.

Re: THE BODIES EXHIBITION...

It was great...not at all disgusting. Though, they do have an entire portion dedicated to babies, so don't go there if that sort of stuff will bother you.

Completely agree. The baby section may bother some, but they give you lots of warning that it's coming up and you don't have to go into this wing, they give you places to go around it.

I can't watch surgery or anything on TV, but the exhibit was so cool, honestly, because they look so real that you think it must be fake...KWIM? Chat Icon It's really amazing!
