Re: Talk to me about your induction...
I was induced because my water broke, but I had cervadil put in around 9:30-10pm and that jump started my contractions, so I did not need pitocin. They finally let me get the epi when I was 4cm, which was around 4am. At 9am they came and checked me and I was fully dilated, DS was born just before 10am. So for me it was about 12 hours from inserting the cervadil to when DS was born.
Best of luck!!!

Talk to me about your induction...
I had a successful induction. Got to hospital 7am, was barely dilated (.5cm) mostly effaced (70%) and dd had dropped. 940am started pitocin 215pm was at 4cm and got the epidural 720pm still at 4cm but my dr came in for his shift and broke my water. Progressed rapidly from there 915pm 7cm 1040pm fully dilated, started to push 1137pm dd arrives!

Talk to me about your induction...
Mine as you know was successful. I was 2 cm and 100% effaced before mine.
Started pitocin at 9 am, dd was born at 4:10.
After they broke my water, I progressed fast!!!! I mean really fast. I went from 6cm to 10cm in under an hour! I got an epidural around 8 cm!!! I really tried to do it without one but it was super intense and the pain was unbearable at that point. I was lucky they even gave me one at that point. I was close to the cutoff for that. Anyhow it was a very quick labor and I pushed literally 2 or 3 times and she was here. Pushing was the easiest part for me! It was literally under 5 min of pushing!!
Good luck!

Talk to me about your induction...
I went in for an induction with dd. Had my membranes stripped the morning of. Went to the hospital 6 hours later and was 4 cm. I had been 3 for 2 weeks. Hooked up, given pitocin said it would be fast. Dr broke my water. 12 hours later, was still 4. Ended up with a csection.

Talk to me about your induction...
I had pitocin because my water broke and even after waiting and trying some natural things, I wasn't having contractions. The Dr was worried about the possibility of infection for me and baby. It took about 8 hours of pitocin. This was my second baby. Was dilated about 1 cm before pitocin started.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
I had 2, with my third and fourth dc, because they were late, and I tend to have big db's. Both were pretty easy and uneventful. Only thing is they had to really turn up the pitocin, as I went in completely undilated. Contractions then came on really strong and I wished I had asked for an epidural a bit earlier. Good luck.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
Went in being 3 cm and 100% effaced at 7am. Pitocin started. Water broke on its own. Never dilated past 5cm. My ds was born 9:29pm via csection.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
For my induction I had cervadil inserted at 6pm and never made it the full 12 hours to even get pitocin, didn't need it... labor started on it's own, I progressed very quickly (no time for an epi) and had a successful natural delivery before 4am the next day. Good luck!!

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
ehhhhh....
i was 1.5 cm and 4 days late. After internal at dr was sent to hospital to be induced, stared having contractions as soon as i left office and was bleeding from it so I would have gone anyway... got to hospital and the let me go on my own. Stalled at 3cm, started pitocin and epi. Got to 4.5 but was stuck there for hours. Everytime pitocin was upped DS heartrate dropped. After about 6-7 hours, dr said we could not keep that up and ended up with C-section. When they got in there, they said he was in a weird position and never could have made it vaginally

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
I was sent in for an induction because I was past my due date and had low fluids. Had a balloon catheter put in at 10pm, slept at the hospital overnight. By morning I was 4cm and the dr broke my water and I started having contractions on my own. Had the epidural at 5cm. 3 hours later I was ready to push. DS heartbeat dropped with the first push. The dr said most times that means the umbilical cord is wrapped around something, but no way to know what. We stabilized his heart and tried again. That time I was able to push and he was fine. I pushed for maybe 20 minutes and I could feel that he was stuck. The dr wound up using the vacuum extractor while I pushed. He cane out on the next two contractions. Turns out the cord was wrapped around his neck and was pulling him back while I pushed. Had they not used the extractor and made me continue pushing on my own, DS probably would have gone into distress and I would have wound up with an emergency c-section. But all said and done, I thought it went pretty smoothly and was happy with the induction.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
I had a pretty easy induction. Everything went smooth. I ended up having an emergency c-section because my sons BIG head turned while I was pushing and he got stuck... I was in labor for 30 hours...

Fingertip dilated and 50% effaced. I was induced due to low fluid.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
My water broke on my due date. I did not dilate with the iv meds, and the baby wasn't even close to descending. Even if I dilated, the doctor wouldn't be able to grab her with just hands. So I had to have a c-section. I'm sure yours will be fine if your doctor feels the baby is ready, and you already had a successful v-birth. They think I may have too narrow a pelvis, which is why she never descended. But it all serves as a reminder to always be prepared for a c section, just in case! Best of luck!

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
Overall, I had a smooth induction. My biggest piece of advice would be to get the epidural as soon as you're able to. Pitocin contractions are no joke- they come on fast and strong! But the epi really took away all the pain, and I was able to sleep/rest until it was time to push. Good luck! It's all worth it in the end!

Talk to me about your induction...
I was induced with DC#2 at 39 weeks because my BP was dangerously high. I had a v-delivery with DC#1 2 years prior. The induction went very smoothly, received a round of cervidil at 8pm and was able to sleep through very mild contractions. They removed it at 8am, I received the epi at 9am, pitocin soon thereafter. I was fully dilated a few hours later and after about 3-4 pushes, DD was born at 12pm.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
I was induced at 40 weeks with my only DD. I was 2cm and 70-80% effaced.
I had pitocin for 6 hours and I was contracting on the screen but not feeling anything or dilating any further. So they broke my water and that sped things up and started to feel the pain! Got my epi and relaxed until I was 10cm. The whole process took awhile (22 hrs?) but they did it slow on purpose. I arrived at the hspoital at 7-8am, they still have to do bloodwork on you and order the pitocin so they didn't start it until 11am. Broke my water at 5-6pm. Got epi at 10pm. Was ready to push by 2am. Baby born at 4:45am, much later than we anticipated bc my dr was delivering 8000 other babies that night grrrr.

Re: Talk to me about your induction...
54 hours. Pitocin didn't work because DS's heartrate kept dropping. Cytotec and a balloon catheter (2nd try) eventually worked and I had a vaginal birth after 2 hours of pushing.
