Talk to me about teething
LO is almost 6 months. She seems fine except waking more at night now. Sunday night was awful, last night much better. Shes holding her ear but the dr said its not an ear infection, they do that with teething.
What can I do or give her to help? She has the frozen teething rings, I have not given her any medication I dont think she needs it right now. But what else can I buy to help her throught this?

We give DD baby orajel and it seems to help.
Also, wet a washcloth, roll it up like a cigar and put it in the freezer. Let her chomp on that.

I put THIS in tiny tots Easter basket. I've been told THIS works too.
Oh and I also got her that Sophie Giraffe.

We fought through it with cold teething rings and frozen washcloths. I got baby orajel naturals (the one w/o belladonna) but never used it.
IMO do some research on belladonna before you buy OTC teething relief products - there are widely differing opinions on the ingredient. GL!

I didn't give DS anything for the regualr teeth. He usually had a night or two where he was not himself. For the molars I gave motrin cause he was a beast!

DD's first two teeth started to break through right when she turned 5 months. For the week or so leading up to that she was sleeping really poorly, waking up crying every few hours. I didn't know why at the time, but then when her teeth came in I figured that was probably the reason. Since her teeth broke through she's been sleeping much better. For the first few nights after I first noticed the teeth starting to break through I gave her a dose of baby tylenol before bedtime, and also used baby orajel, the Naturals kind. She also loves to chomp on a cold wet washcloth.

One of the best pieces of advice I got about teething was to rub my DD's gums every night with a finger brush. I do this every single night (since she was about 2 months). I do it after her bath as part of our routine so I don't forget. It helps to keep their gums softer thus making it easier for the teeth to come through. Right now DD has about 13 teeth, including 4 molars, and teething has been mostly bearable aside from a handful of nights. I can count on 2 hands how many times she has woken from teething. Also, cold foods seem to help, like applesauce, cleminitines, kiwis or homemade frozen sorbet.
