Talk to me about Clomid...

Met w/ RE yesterday, got bloodwork, etc., so waiting on results of that. But looks like he's going to be adding 50mg of Clomid to my 2000mg of Metformin.

I'm just starting to learn about Clomid, but would love to hear others' experiences with it. Side effects, success stories, etc.

It really depends. Everyone is different.

I got a lot of Hot Flashes & was real bitchy. Always made a bunch of follicles. I did have a thin lining once and also got cysts from it once as well. Mostly, it was ok and worked for me once (Pregnancy was ectopic)

For me, I did not have any side effects or discomfort with the lower dosages- but I also did not respond. I ended up getting 2 rounds of clomid during 1 cycle, but still had to forgo the iui and start Provera.

Once I was bumped up to 200mg, I finally responded and had 2 nice sized follicles at the time of the iui. I had horrible hot flashes while on the pills, but that stopped once I took my last pill.

I will be on 250mg this time around, and NOT looking forward to the side effects, especially if this heat wave continues!!

I have been blessed with 3 children with Clomid help. I did need the higher doses to produce any follicles. I would say hot flashes were my biggest side effect. The Metformin bothered me more than the clomid.

I just started Clomid this week- last dose is tomorrow. I had no side effects and I'm not sure what it did internally until my appt next week. I'll be doing my first IUI next week.

I took 100mg of clomid this cycle and produced follicles on both sides and ovulated about 10 days after I finished my last pill. The worst side effect I had was hot flashes, now I know how my mom felt during menopause!! But otherwise felt fine. 5 days into my 2ww now, so fingers crossed this is it!

I started with 100mg of clomid and never had any side effects. I took it at night so if it did effect me I would be sleeping and not notice.

My first cycle I produced 3 follies and the 2nd 2 follies. BFN both cycles.

It did not work for me. I got terrible hot flashes and as soon as I saw a RE he said off clomid and on femara

I never had any side effects. I took Clomid for 9 cycles: 3 TI and 6 IUIs. I became pregnant with the 6th IUI.

The only big side effect I had was the first month. The dosage was too high and I ended up producing 9 nice sized follicles. They didn't want to risk the chance of multiples so I missed the cycles. By the next cycle, we were able to figure out the dosage.

I have my two girls thanks to clomid. I didn't respond to low dosages and conceived both of my girls on 250 mg of clomid with iui. On low dosages I didn't have any issues but on the higher doses I had terrible hot flashes and my emotions were crazy I cried a lot. Other than that I was fine.
