Talk to me about Clomid
What does it do and why do people use it? I know its for TTC but why? THanks! Going on our 5th month of TTC, Should i ask the dr for it? TIA!

it really depends on what your issue is. For me it was to stimulate more follies. For some it is to try to make them ovulate.
You will need testing done befor you are on it. It is not soemthing that you can just take and see the Dr whenever. You need to be monitored on it and it does thin your lining so you are not supposed to be on it for any length of time.
I took it in combination with IUIs. While it did stimulate more follies than normal I did nto get PG while taking it.
It also increases the chance of multiples so it is not soemthing to just jump into. It is considered the "starter" of infertility drugs but in no way should be treated lightly.
I was TTC for well over a year when I finally decided to try it.

ita with this..if u have reg cycles and ovulate on ur own i dont see the use of clomid yet..
do uhave any fertility issues?
and clomid is def not a wonder drug..we did 5 rounds and i never responded to it

I'm on clomid to stimulate follicle growth. Then 2 weeks later I get an HCG injection to trigger ovulation.

I ovulate on my own but started Clomid with my ob/gyn to help shorten my cycles. I was having cycles 65 days and longer. With my RE we used it to help follicle growth with IUI.
