Suv Recommnedations - Please help..
Hi,
We are in the market now for a SUV. We currently own a Nissan Altima. However, we need something bigger. I am looking for a small SUV. Not necessary for third row. Just something that can fit two carseats, a double stroller and luggage, if we go traveling. However, I also want something nice looking, with nice features and above all else GOOD GAS MILEAGE..
I have looked at the Mercury Mariner and the Hyundai Santa fe. I liked the Mariner but I hear its a gas guzzler. We are also considering the Chevy Equinox or the Chrysler Pacifica.
Can anyone please recommend a safe, reliable, small SUV, that gets good gas mileage..
Thanks so much, Denise

i love my CR-V and DH loves our Rav-4.
my friend has kids and she has a honda pilot - she really likes it.
my brother, who has a six year old, swears by his nissan pathfinder b/c of the spaciousness of it.
the nissan rogue, don't know if it is big enough for you - but it is supposed to be awesome! i hear great things about it all the time.
hope that helps.

Santa Fe is a lot smaller than it looks. I would not get that with 2 carseats.
I do like the Mariner a lot, but have never really sat in one so I don't know how roomy it is.

I love my Honda Pilot and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a mid-large SUV. The Pilot has the fold down 3rd row which I love. If you're looking for a smaller SUV for only one child I would go with the Santa Fe. I know a bunch of people that have one and they all love it. It's great on gas, good amount of room and safe in the snow.

We have a Nissan Rogue whuch would be too small for you most likely, but we were also looking at the Mazda CX7 and really liked it.

Love love love my Murano. However we need to upgrade to something with 3rd row seating like the GMC Acadia. The Acadia has awesome safety ratings and funtions like a minvan without the look.

This is what we are leaning toward. I like how easily accessible the 3rd row is. My friend who has a Pilot said getting at the 3rd row is a PITA for her b/c she has 2 carseats in the 2nd row.

GEtting to the 3rd row in the Acadia is really easy. I can stand at the door and buckle my son in the car seat while still standing outside the car! I love it! Can't wait until DH gets me mine (I still lease my Envoy!).

if you're looking for an SUV that's good on gas, check out the new CR-V. it's a small SUV, but I thought it had a lot of room inside.

We have a Santa Fe and a Tuscon (both Hyundai SUVs) and love them! They drive great, get okay gas mileage for SUVs, and are reasonably priced.

I test drove the CR-V EX-L 4WD last night and loved it. I thought it was spacious without feeling huge (I'm not a truck fan). Great features and it's a Honda.

Danielle and I just purchased a 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor It is huge on the inside and it rides so nice. Go to Wantagh Mitsubishi on Sunrise Hwy and ask for Leo. Very laid back and no pressure at all. Scott
Here are some pics(This is not ours)
5 Year 60k mile warranty 10 year 100k mile warranty on the power train
