***Sunday's QOTD***
This weekend is going too fast!!! Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday, we are going to a christening, which will be surprisingly low key...which got me thinking,
When your LO is born and is growing up, how to you plan to handle parties for major events? Religious events, birthdays, etc. Are you going to do low key or will you have a huge party?

Low-key. It's just our style. Our wedding only had 75 guests! On the parenting board, I've seen some Moms throw their LO a 1st birthday party with twice that number of guests. It's just not us. We'd rather spend our money on travel, go out to dinner more often, decorating the house, etc.

Low key! We dont have a big family and I would rather give my LO the money as a gift for their savings account than to waste it on a lavish party. Hoping for a summer baby so we can do outdoor BBQ's for parties.

Re: ***Sunday's QOTD***
We are low key people and I prefer home parties for everything, even though they aren't cheaper. I feel like people can relax and stay longer, eat and drink more... That being said our home parties will still be pretty big b/c we have a big family but my family isn't in NY and if things continue like they have for wedding celebrations, I imagine we'll have to have two celebrations for a lot of events (1st birthday). I had 4 bridal showers it's just what works out b/c my whole large family is oos and I can't ask them to travel or host them all, but they want to celebrate too. The oos celebration would just be at my parent's when we went to visit.

Same here! Although first birthday and christening, communion, ect. will more than likely be at a hall or restaurant.

I am all about over the top! It becomes a little expensive but if your going to do it you got to do it big that is hoe I feel. DS has had everything so far big and every time I say never again but I just cant resist.

Re: ***Sunday's QOTD***
With DC#1 we did a very low key Christening (immediate family only) and a big 1st birthday (about 60 people plus kids).
Planning on doing the same for our next LO.
