Sterilizers
So it didnt even occur to me to register/get on of these until a friend mentioned it to me. ...
Are these necessary adn if so whats the difference between the microwave kind and the electric kind ?
How are you planning on washing baby's bottles, pacis etc?
By hand? Dishawasher? or one of these machines, or some combination?

my sister just had a baby 3 weeks ago and told me to register for the the first years babypro sterilizer. . . it has been her saving grace.
She washed the bottles and then throws them in the sterilizer. I guess I plan on doing the same.

I registered for the microwave one. That's the one that my sister used and she loved it. She would wash the bottles by hand and then put them in the microwave to sterilize them.

I registered for a sterilizer so I have been using it but honestly you can just put the bottles along with the parts in the dishwasher.

We got a microwave sterilizer when I was pregnant with my son and honestly used it maybe 3 or 4 times. You need to sterilize the bottles before the first use, but honestly, you can do that in a pot of boiling water. After the initial sterilization, we washed everything in the dishwasher. We'll do the same this time. I don't think the sterilizer is necessary.

Not necessary IMO. A pot of boiling water works fine along w te dishwasher.

I didnt think the sterilizer was necessary and neither did my pediatrician..
Boil them the first time out of the package and then dishwasher or warm soapy water is fine after that! But we did dishwasher often just for the ease and that prob sanitizes just the same!

i heard the sterilizers are a waste... you can throw stuff in the dishwasher or a pot of boiling water (just make sure the directions say the boiling water is ok)
