Re: Spinoff-Do you keep your doors locked all the time?

nope, not when we are home, not sure why, we just don't

We always deadbolt it before bed but I think we may start locking it all the time

Re: Spinoff-Do you keep your doors locked all the time?

I seem to be the oddball out here, but we don't lock our door when we are home - usually at night when we are in bed, but I have to admint, we sometimes forget to lock it at night.

ETA: I should mention that we live Upstate, so maybe the crime rates are different.

Those of you who keep the doors locked all the time. How do you do it with the kids and their friends coming and going. I would be going crazy unlocking the door every minute.

Re: Spinoff-Do you keep your doors locked all the time?

Nope, I don't. But I have my alarm on chime mode, so when either a door or window is opened, it goes off.

Re: Spinoff-Do you keep your doors locked all the time?

You'd think I'd know better by now after having 6 robberies when I was growing up, the last of which I was home alone when two masked men broke in and chased me...

But... no... when we are home, I don't lock the doors, nor do I lock them when we leave to go shopping or run errands.

My kids are both under 3. So I guess it will change when they get older.

Re: Spinoff-Do you keep your doors locked all the time?

Nope! When we're home the door is almost always unlocked until we go to bed at night.

We live in a co-op, so it's not like the door is open to the street - just our apartment. But my MIL's door is always unlocked too...that's probably where DH gets it from (it was his habit, not mine).

All doors are locked. And our sliding door that goes to our balcony, dh cut a circular piece of wood to jam in at the bottom. So it's locked and it has the wood there

No, I live in Canada. I'm too busy cleaning up spills on the floor and not carrying around giant vats of boiling oil on slippery surfaces to bother locking the doors. Besides Michael Moore said I don't have to b/c I live in Canada. Here, my biggest worry is that Michael Moore will break into my house to steal my free health insurance.

We live in a doorman building too, but I lock my door all the time. I'd be so paranoid about some random person just walking in to my apartment. I

Not that I don't think my "guard cats" wouldn't warn me, but between licking themselves and using the scratching post, they have a lot on their minds.
