Some of the most beautiful actresses of all time have been redheads: Maureen O'Hara, Rita Hayworth, Katherine Hepburn, Deborah Kerr, Esther Williams, Bette Davis.
The reason there are few "attractive" redheads is because it is rare. Approximately 1% to 2% of the human population has red hair.
JFK was a redhead 
I was just about to post something very similiar to this.
Red is my favorite color on women, so rare and exotic looking. I always stop and stare when I see one.
Posts like this make me really curious to see what some posters look like in real life. I would loveeeeee to see pics !

Yowza, I just looked at the picture and wrote my response. Who knew there could be drama over something so silly as hair color preference.
Personally, I am a faux-redhead so I'm a step down from all you natural redheads since I'm not even a real ginger, but a wanna-be! But I didn't take those comments or those pictures as offensive. I could see how some might though- I'm not a fan of generalizations in general. To be honest, I just think there are a lot of UGLY people in the world- no matter what their hair color.

I'm not really into redheaded men or blonde men for that matter. I like men tall, dark and handsome- like my Israeli husband. But I think red hair on women is just gorgeous!!!
A funny story about that- I was at Scores one night with a red haired girl friend. My SIL drank a little too much- so we spent a LOT of time in the bathroom - and the only other girls in there were the strippers. So my friend asks- why aren't there any red haired strippers here. One of the girls said that red hair is the "goddess" fantasy and Scores is more about the hooker fantasy.
So red haired women- you are goddesses.

I think im going to dye my hair red now because of this... A couple of years ago one of my cousins said she got made fun of for having red hair... her hair is amazing... i wish i had her hair, so i dyed my hair red for her... and i dyed it red for about 2 years... i loved it... but my hair is so dark so its hard to tell its red unless the light is shining on it...
This is the only pic i can find...

I am not a fan. I think fire c. R. O. T. C. H. I also, dont like the super white pale skin that comes with the red hair. Im more into the darker, hair skin tones. But, he does look dapper.
This. I've just never been attracted to fair-skinned and red headed/light haired men. I'm more of a tall, dark, and handsome kinda girl myself.
I do love red hair on women though...like Ishla Fisher and Debra Messing....just gorgeous!

Okay, let's be clear that...
THIS ... is what I'm referring to as 'red head'
Pale skin, carrot-y color hair.
People who have 'gone red' do not OPT to choose THAT color 'red'.
They pick something else. More 'flattering'.
I have yet to see any of you on here who claim to be red heads post a picture of yourself with THAT color hair.
Britt -- you almost have blonde hair. So does your husband. It's more strawberry blonde. In fact, I had to do a double take when I realized it was you getting all uspet about this ... I was like 'She doesn't even have red hair. She's blonde!'
And the girl who posted her family picture... you guys I guess fall into the 'red' category but I you both have that more 'auburn' color. It's more of a reddish brown.
No true REDs.
And since I know someone out there does have that carroty color, I'm sorry. I hope you're one of the few who makes it work. It's doable. But hard.
And again, if the rest of you who are all huffy and puffy about my comments -- I didn't say its impossible to be good looking as a redhead. Nor did I say people with red hair are ugly/despicable/whatever else...
So relax.
I DVR'd Rachael Ray today just so that I could watch Christina Hendricks.

Well I think red hair is awesome..half my family is red-headed...here is my cousin trish, i think she is gorgeous  (halloween pic, she was poison ivy). Her sisters all have red hair too, they are so pretty as well.

I forgot to reply about men w/red hair..i think that a person can be attractive or unattractive with any color hair. I've seen hot men with red hair, and not so hot men with red hair. I know a lot of guys are super self conscious if they have red hair...which stinks. One of DH's closest friends has red hair and he is so good looking...he likes his hair i believe, and he loves his scottish heritage so it all ties in!

OMG I laughed out loud at this!!!! I really do feel bad for that poor guy!!!!
Personally, I am partial to dark haired guys but I have seen my share of good looking read headed people! I am also an UNnatural red head (although its a darker red) and very pale so maybe I shouldn't talk...

i am also a faux red-head and did not take offence to the statement. In addition, I also have 2 sisters and many cousins with naturally red hair. I don't think the pics are offensive and i also interpreted the statement as referring to redheads that have an un-natural bright "carrot top" red tinge. there are many variations of red hair and it can be a very difficult color to pull off. it really depends on a person's features, style, etc, in my opinion. I think red hair can look really nice on certain women but i am not really attracted to red-haired men.
