Some good news...no, not a BFP!

DH and I applied for a an IVF grant from the NYS department of health through our RE (East Coast Fertility) and we found out today we were accepted! So if we don't get out bfp this month (we'll know by the end of the week) we'll be going ahead with the IVF, I am so excited!

Have you already gone through IUI or is that not an option for you guys?

I hope that you get your BFP this week and won't have to use the grant. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We could have tried IUI but we would have had to pay completley out of pocket for it and the chances of IUI's working are very low, I think like 15-20%. We just didn't feel comfptable spending so much money with such a little chance.

We're hoping we don't end up having to use it either, I'm going to try and wait until Wednesday to test, 12dpo.

Thanks! It doesn't cover everything. We have a cost-share amount. It's a sliding scale based on your salary. In addition to that we also have to pay the operating room fees and for "embryo glue". That being said, our out of pocket costs are still less than a thrid of what it would all cost without the grant. Also, we get 1 year of cryopreservation free.
