Choir geek here. and to show just how geeky... a friend of mine and I used to actually hang out with the Chorus teacher after school every now and then  he was very cool though... always cracking jokes and a lot of fun to be around

I was in band, but I wouldn't consider myself a band geek. My friends where not into school at all, and alot of them picked on the geeks.

I was an amazing clarinetist - lead for every performance. I loved it until my clarinet tutor, who was in his 40's, started hitting on me and making inappropriate comments

Holy crap! That's terrible.
I was also a talented clarinet player. I was first chair in the high school band in 7th grade. (I got to play in the junior high and senior high band.)
I moved schools for high school, though, to a school that had a really terrible band. I refused to play in it. (Give me a break, I was 14 and thought I knew it all.  ) I plaed on my own for a while, but haven't played in a few years. I keep telling DH I want to start playing again.

I was a "smart homegirl"
literally...it says it in my yearbook.
I was in honors classes, but cool with everyone.
except anyone that was an arsehole. I had too big of a mouth to be friends with meanies and arseholes...regardless of their coolness or smartness or nerdiness.
no arsehole escaped my wrath.
eta: lest I be mistook, I and most people in my school were involved in different groups with different people, and therefore were not named or labeled by any one interest or talent.

I don't think most of us meant we were unpopular in high school. I was smart, in speech & debate, all honors classes, etc., but I was pretty popular, too. I didn't take this thread to mean we were outcasts.
