Sleeping literally face down...nervous
Dd just turned 4 mos and just started rolling. The past few nights, around 4am, she will roll onto her belly, but she still can't get her arm out from being pinned under her, so she can't really lift herself up. She will ultimately scream, and after some antics with me trying to return her to her back, she will ultimately end up back on her stomach with me freeing her hand. She will then proceed to fall asleep with her face straight down into the mattress. Is this safe? I'm so sleep deprived and a nervous wreck. I know belly sleeping is fine once they can roll over, but I'm specifically worried about her arm being pinned under her, and her head facing straight down.

she is fine, they do this! And she will probably figure out how to push her self up with her arms very soon (like within the week or so) if she is doing this so much. That's the rolling over age!
If you are nervous consider getting a babysense monitor. We used it for both kids, still have it in my 9 month olds crib. It definitely helped me sleep better.

My son did this around that age. I was running in multiple times a night to flip him over because he would get stuck in that position and cry. Within a week he learned to roll over and it was no longer a problem.

That would make me nervous too. I would try to turn her head to the side or put her on her back.
