Re: silly ?'s for mommas of 2
I had my kids 19 months apart. They are truly best friends and play wonderfully together. Of course they bicker, but usually they are fine together. DS was a great help to me in the early weeks because he thought he was so special for helping mommy all day. Both of my kids are equally loved and I enjoy seeing them interact with one another. They tell each other they love one another and that they are best friends.
If I had it to do over all over again, I would have them exactly the same. We had a great experience.

Re: silly ?'s for mommas of 2
Seriously though- it isn't that bad.
Mine are 20 months apart and it was actually easier in the beginning than now (the younger one just turned 1 last week). DD1 gets a bit more jealous now that DD2 can get into her things.
But- DD1 is fiercely protective of her little sister and I know they will be great friends.

Mine are 10.5 months apart, now at 3 & almost 2.5, they are best friends. In the beginning it was extremely rough. They were on completely different schedules, did not nap together, one would finish eating, the other looked to eat. Also bc my oldest was not even 1, he was not walking & required a lot of my attention. As time went on, it got easier but it wasn't until.closer to when the baby was 6 months.

Re: silly ?'s for mommas of 2
I have 3. My 1st was 2 years 2 months when #s 2 & 3 were born :)
The early weeks were especially rough around here because of NICU time. Hudson was in there from 2/14-3/1 and Stella from 2/14-3/10. Since one came home first, we had time to adjust to that change first which was good.
They did sometimes nap at the same time.
My oldest loves the babies SO SO MUCH. He just doesn't necessarily know how to be "gentle" with them. He used to do what we'd call a "drive-by smacking" where he'd just randomly go up to one of them and smack them on the head... but that has stopped hahah. Now he just tries to pick them up which he obviously can't really do. He is super helpful though and always goes to them if they are crying... when we used pacifiers, he'd always be the first to run over and give it to them. Now that they're eating table foods, he puts the tiny pieces in their mouths or hands to help them. He is awesome!
The hardest part for me is just managing my time. I work FT, have a direct sales business on the side, cook dinner every night, etc. It's a lot! But somehow it all works and I can't imagine it any other way.
I make sure to spend extra special time with my oldest. Every Thursday we have a "date" where I pick him up early from daycare and take him somewhere special. Lately it's been to an open play place and we just play together one on one, eat a snack together and just be with each other! My husband switched his schedule so he could have wednesday off (and work saturday instead) and he takes our oldest out for a special day then. the babies are 10 months now, but as they get older we hope to give them each their own special, individual time. We also have Friday appetizer night where we all sit in the livign room and eat appetizers together. We make sure to do a lot together so each child feels loved & included.
My oldest is my best buddy. He always has been. I was so scared to ruin or change that bond, but it really hasn't changed since the babies came along. It has grown stronger and special in it's own way. I love each of the babies for their own personalities and it's really incredible just how much love you can have! As they say, love doesn't divide... it multiplies. Your heart GROWS and you love each child in their own way for their own multitude of reasons.
Plus, seeing the 3 together is the highlight of my LIFE!!
If all else fails... 3 babies in a box. Endless entertainment for all! hahaha

Re: silly ?'s for mommas of 2
Mine are exactly 2 years apart. I found it very hard in the beginning. My baby was very fussy, contstantly needed to be held and soothed and as you can imagine that is hard with a 2 yr old. I spent a lot of days crying. I found it got easier when the girls were big enough that they could be put down and interact together. I guess starting around the time when the youngest could walk.
Now its great. They are best friends and play together.
I do feel like my older DD was forced to mature and be more independent just beacause of how needy the newborn was. I think if I had an easy baby I would probably have felt differently. I did want to have them relatively close and if I could I would probably would have waited 1 more year and had them 3 years apart.

I had 3 in 13 months...
Very very hard at the beginning. Mine were all good sleepers but it was still hard.
Now they are 4 and 3 and I finally see the light.

My babies are 13 months apart and I will tell you that honestly it is not bad at all. Not sure if I am just really lucky but I dont think it is any harder than just having 1. Maybe because mine are so close that makes it easier? Yes it is harder to go places but I actually went out with them today and it went great. I usually just take 1 of them on a walk or store if my husband is home.
I will answer your questions:
Early weeks - Its just the same as the early weeks with baby # 1 ( a lot of crying and waking up every 2-3 hours).
Naps - 90% of the time my 2 babies nap together. I am very lucky and I get anywhere from 1-4 hours to myself every afternoon. (Average would be 2)
Equal love - My older baby was only 13 months when baby # 2 was born so showing equal love was not an issue because baby # 1 was too young to understand. Now that baby # 2 is a few months old, I lay them on the couch or play mat together and tickle them both! i love hearing them both belly laugh at the same time. Baby # 1 loves baby #2 and wont leave his side. He always sits next to him (pretty much on top of him) and he hugs him multiple times a day. If older baby wakes up first and then I bring baby # 2 into playroom baby # 1 lights up and runs over saying "Hiiiiii".
Love for baby # 2 - Of course I love them both the same but sometimes I do get frustrated with baby # 2 more easily and I feel really bad. (For example when older baby is already asleep for the night and baby # 2 is still up and fussy). It is hard to focus on baby # 2 as much because my older one wants constant attention. I try to always involve baby # 2 by sitting him in the bouncy so he can watch us eat our meals. If I am reading older baby books I always sit next to baby # 2 so he can hear.
I know my situation may not be typical of the real deal but everyone thinks we have it rough and we dont at all!

Re: silly ?'s for mommas of 2
It's really hard.
We will probably be having a third... But only when the little one is 3 years old. I would not plan having 2 so close together. I hear this a LOT from my friends who have 2 under 2.
DS was 17 months when DD was born. He thought she was a cat. He realized she was human months later. He loves her, but tries to poke out her eyes daily.
She definitely gets less attention because DS is needy at 2.
The love is there.... It's a new love for a new baby.
