I cannot imagine this is possible. I will not believe that anyone with autism could do this WITHOUT being completely goaded into it by someone else.
Mentally ill would be more appropriate but aspergers? autism? nope.
He could have had a diagnosis of Autism comorbid with something else such as oppositional defiant disorder (conduct disorder in adults). Autism is a spectrum and therefore there is a wide range of how someone might present.

Also, an AP source said Lanza's girlfriend and another friend are missing in New Jersey.
The girlfriend may be the female body at the Lanza home in CT.
Any more word on the person they arrested in the woods outside the school?
CBS said they now confirm the female body found in the home was in fact the mother Nancy Lanza. I thought she was shot in the school in her classroom? Too much information don't know what is accurate.

I don't think we are going to have all the correct facts for awhile. Too many confilcting reports. First it's Ryan, then it's not, then it's his brother who may or not have had his ID or may or may not have a mental illness or may or may not be on the autism spectrum.

I am just sick over this.
And when Obama lost it, I lost it.
I just think we have very little information here. First 3 injuries and now so many deaths. I also heard there was a class missing. Was that resolved?
There are people with Aspergers or who are otherwise on the spectrum and you would never know it. Some people with autism also have mental retardation but many (especially toward the high functioning end, like aspergers) have high intelligence. It's not necessarily true that someone with some form of autism or aspergers would have to be coerced. I have also seen children be diagnosed with aspergers and then have it changed and they are diagnosed with psychosis or other severe disorders, so it's possible he had something else along with the asd or that the asd masked other issues.

Why the hell does he get to shoot himself and not live with the tragedy he caused? Millions of people around the world are crying and for some parents the crying will never stop..and he doesn't have to shed one tear.

I am a teacher and also a mother to a 5 year old in kindergarten. I can't even look at DD without bursting into tears. At 35 weeks pregnant my DH keeps reminding me to breathe and I just can't Those poor parents. May God give them strength.

I have been trying to keep it together all day. I'm finally home in CT and I'm not going to try and understand because it absolutely makes no sense. My heart is broken for the victims and their families. They are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am extra thankful today for the health and safety of all my loved ones.
