i think you need to not just show terms--but how they SPELL them
a conversation with my 17 year old niece on FB:
her: omg Titi -- dis boy iz trippn
me: what?
her: nd he iz alwaz tryin 2 talk 2 me n othr gurlz @ skewl
me: what?
her: he keep msgn me on FB nd iz gettin krazy. he wuz sayin the same stuff to mii bestie 2
me: what?
her: how shud i handl it?
me: what?
they are tending to type in regular ways like they would txt. its become quite the annoyance.
OMG, this is hysterical!

Re: question for the masses
Hey Caz they don't even write "cool" anymore they write "KEWL". Blech.
I think this is so clever that you posted this "for your mom" when really I know you just want to be hip to your DS.

Re: question for the masses
As a high school teacher, whenever I do something "cool," I'm told that it's "ill." ... Makes no sense to me, but "ill" seems to be a big one. Oh, and let's not forget my favorite adverb as an English teacher. It's not just ill. It's MAD ill.

Yes, MAD is the new very. Sometimes when I get upset with them...I'm OD (overdosing). If I embarrass a student, or another student makes someone mad that student is now TIGHT.
Example:
Me: Hussam, I'm so telling your dad that you did no work today.
Class: Oh, Hussam...you TIGHT.
(tight-assed? IDK)
BTW: IDK is now an acceptable answer for math tests.

Oh goodness, yes! My cousin who I think is in 11th grade honors English ( so I know he CAN do it), does not use puncuation or capitalization when he write to me on Facebook, ever.
I get messages like:
"haha no i want to be friends with you nice profile picture btw lol"
it makes my head ache and want to rip my eyeballs out. I told my niece that when she types like that, she looks like an ignorant person and one day she is gonna do that on a paper in college or on a job application or something. I feel like it takes MORE WORK to type incorrect and LiKe ThIS AlL tHe TiMe than just say it correctly.
Another prime example, my DH's teenage sisters wrote on their other brother's myspace page:
yoooo lil bro this is your bigg sis hackkin dah myspace if any1 got a problem with you i gott yur bakk if dey dont like it dey can call me at 1-800-kiss-my-@ss lol i luvv you 2 death iight ducez ? yOOO00OO biG bRoO dIS bEE dEE liL siS sElEnA yUH kNO i lUvV yUH sOO lEt mEH sHoW dEm mYspACe hAcKERZ hOW 2 dOO00 hOLLA iF aNY hOEE gOT a pROmBlEM dEy cAn cUmMM tHrOuGh nD cOMM fRoNt mEh i ainT cAre wuT nO1 sAy dEM hAtErZ nEEd 2 fALL bAKK hAtiN oN mY iLL bRO dUN fuKK wiT hIM cUZ hE wiLL jUS fUKK yUh uP nD hE gOtT mAdD pEoPlE dAt gOtT hiZ bAKK sOOO00 sKrEAMMMmmM iiiGhtY iM oUT 1

Win!
which is to say its not a fail.
I am on other forums for my car and they is a younger group in there and everything is a win.
Hey you see my new mod?
That has win written all over it.
My sons say this ALL THE TIME.
"That trick was made of WIN!" as opposed to "That trip was made of LOSE" or "Answer is: FAIL!"
Annoys the futz out of me!

Re: question for the masses
I'm 22, so I'll just write what I hear alot of my friends say.
"that's banana's" ((meaning love it, that's cool)) "i died" ((meaning love it)) "love's it" "gravy" ((that's cool)) "that's hott" and yes it's always spelt with 2 t's lol.
and personally I always say "that's ridic" and I'm not sure why lol.
