Question about size of one year old
My mom said that when all 4 of her kids were around a year old, they were in 18-24months or 2T.
How big is your one year old? I'd like to take advantage of the sales for next year but don't want to get stuck with clothes he won't wear.

My daughter was still in 12 mos clothes, some 18 mos at 1 year.

DD is 16 months and still wears mostly 12m clothes. She can wear 18m but they are clearly big on her.
She's not average though, she's petit. Not even 20 lbs yet.

My daughter is tall for her age at 22 months, and is now wearing 2T. At a year she wore some 18 mos clothes, but nothing that was 24 mos. Stick to clothes that can be worn across seasons, like jeans and long t-shirts.

Ella's not a year yet, but she's true to size. So at 1 year (which is coming WAY too fast), she should be wearing 12-18 months.

At 1 year, Nate was wearing mostly 18M. Depending on the brand he was wearing 12M. I found that clothes from Children's Place ran big on him.

My 11 month old is in 12-18(Gap) or 18 mos clothing. She's a chunker.

My son was still in 6-9 months at one year - he's only fitting into his 12 months now at 16 months.
My DD was wearing 12 months at 1 year old.

You probably have to judge it by how your little one is now. Ellie has been running true to size maybe a little small so I anticipate she'll be in 12 mos when she's a year old.

I dont think thats true, unless your child is very tall.
Julia is 19 months and still wears 18-24 months, she wont be in a 2T til the summer.

My son wore 18 mo or 18-24 mo clothing when he was 1 and he was always on the bigger side of the percentage chart at that age. He started wearing 2T around 18/19 months.

My daughter is 9 months now and I am buying her 18-24 month sizes (for the summer when she will be one). She long and chunky!

@ 1- Ry was even in 12 months- or 12-18 months...
Now @ 16.5 months- he is in 18 months.... SOME 18-24 months...
From my exp. he has always been true to his size- or a few months ahead....
He is a little chubs= but is short!
ETA- I think its very old school the size being double the age...
I find clothes are made bigger now- therefore allowing children to be true to their size...
Where as when we were younger, our size was always double our age....
My mom and aunts and stuff- always by Ry things double his age- and it never fits him!

At 10 1/2 months, my son can wear 9 month or 12 month clothes. His 12 month clothes are big enough that they should fit him for a while. 18 months are still too big for him. He is 19 1/2 pounds and 29 1/2 inches long.

Sarah is turning 2 this month and just getting tall enough for 2T pants, but she's mainly in 24months. My friend's daughter is almost 10 months and wearing 24 months, she was 24 lbs at her appt last week!

at 1 year old Jake was in size 12-18 months. He was always true to size with his age.
