Question about curtains
In my office, we have casement windows and (as we finally painted it and are setting it up), i need advice on window treatments.
DD's room also has casement windows, but what we did in there was just put valances and then blackout blinds that roll up, but have a decorative bottom.
My big questions are: 1. what size (length) curtain would you get for these windows? Would you have it fall just below the molding, or go longer than that?
2. Is there a place that carries special sizes (and doesn't cost an arm and a leg) or do you just buy a standard size and then have them hemmed? (and, where do you bring them to do that? I'm sure any attempt towards sewing on my part would lead to me bleeding to death)
These are the windows i'm talking about (there's 2 sets). Excuse the pic- it was from before we moved in.

Re: Question about curtains
When I got my curtains the store did hem them..for an additional price....but I would imagine that a local tailor could probably do it regardless of where you buy them..(I went to the Curtain Store in massapequa on Sunrise)...I would probably go a little longer than the molding for curtains on that window...
Have you considered a Roman shade for those windows?? I think that might look very nice there..I have similar windows (not casement, but the same shape) just a little bigger, in our family room and I am doing a wood roman shade on them..I went to Instant Verticals on 110 in Farmingdale for those and they were very reasonable pricewise considering they measure and install .....HTH good luck
